Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Library presented an updated plan for renovating the village’s public library would decrease Ridgewood’s contribution to the project by $500,000, dealing a 20% cut to the portion taxpayer dollars would fund according to library presentation at Wednesday nights Village Council meeting.
In the new plan, the renovations would cost $7.2 million, down from the $7.7 million proposed months ago. The new plan eliminated the controversial spiral staircase and the reconfiguring of the building’s interior actually left more usable space. The lobby is also more open, connecting the entryway to the rest of the building.
The village would provide $1.6 million for the project, an amount it would likely bond for later. Council members seemed to favor the new proposal .
This may be a stupid question, but why does the library need updating? maybe some new carpet and a few new chairs….but what else??
No way
Library with new carpets rest rooms lighting table would be fine
Taxpayers reimagine not getting
Hosed by their pipe dreams called
Re-Imagines the Re-Imagine
Imagine that
Turn the library into a GINORMOUS GARAGE
.
…or perhaps Low Income Housing.
.
Call me when the taxpayer “extra” contribution is zero. Because they already have a dedicated amount they get from taxpayers each and every year.
I pay my taxes but can’t even stand to go there, and the so-called improvements won’t help. Zero dollars, please.
Make it low income or very low income with Section8 recipients to be a must. We must be inclusive and lower our quality of life to that of less fortunate. The feeling of doing sth good while we ruin our town is amazing. Do it. Saddle River is converting O’Donnells former property into low income for people of color so that they can also taste the good life of the exclusive areas. Comrades Castro, Marx, Lenin, Stalin, Soros would be very proud of us.
