Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Library presented an updated plan for renovating the village’s public library would decrease Ridgewood’s contribution to the project by $500,000, dealing a 20% cut to the portion taxpayer dollars would fund according to library presentation at Wednesday nights Village Council meeting.

Ridgewood Library Reimagine ,”has no clear vision. It’s on a funding grab”

 Resident Steve Kim said in the group “It takes a Ridgewood Village ”  on comments he made at the Wednesday nights Village Council Meeting about proper planning  :

“My public comment regards to the Library at the Village Council meeting last evening. Because Library didn’t do proper planning and needs analysis, it has no clear vision. It’s on a funding grab. I’m personally confused as to what it’s doing. It can update the place, but why gut renovate to essentially offer the same services as now? I hope the Village doesn’t get stuck funding unnecessary projects…”

Questions Arise on Ridgewood Library “Donations”

My questions to the Library:

Who requested and who authorized the use of reserves to be marked as a donation? What was the amount? What meetings and discussions took place to determine this course of action, and who were the participants of that meeting?

Who proposed and who authorized the donation from Friends? What allows Friends to use donated funds in ways other than what is indicated on the webpage?

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Library help is much heralded Public Forum on Saturday . Dispite all the hoopla the event attendance was a bit thin.

While some attendees including Anne LaGrange Loving complimented Nancy Greene for making an honest effort to listen to the concerns of the citizens.

Ridgewood Library Foundation Donations Used to Fund Preliminary Design of Reimange Project

Ridgewood NJ, the cumulative fees paid to architects for the Ridgewood Public Library Reimagine Project are $65,270 .

In 2016-2018 the library hired Peter Gisolfi Associates a preliminary design and cost estimates to update the library interior . Gisolfi received the bulk of the $65,270 of $55,620 for the work with $45,501 paid for thru private donations.
