Ridgewood Schools: A Trojan Horse Inside Cottage Place

Ridgewood NJ, recent presentations made by Ridgewood Public School administrators confirm that DEI is enjoying a celebratory parade right into the village’s schools. Few in the public have been warning of its approach. Some succumb to the charlatan gifts. Others notice that the movements observed from shadows and dark corners are simply images. Fewer return to warn the public that it is not too late to exterminate the policies and practices emerging from hibernation after a cold winter.

The District’s goal of having Montclair State University partner with the village’s public schools is the first horseshoe to fall. Pulling at the horse’s mane reveals that the district’s extreme political progressivism, marked not by education but activism, will soon be cornering Ridgewood students into dark alleys blocked by deceptive debris. Just as it is on university campuses all over the country. This website has already addressed Afrika Afeni Mills’ involvement and the DEI committee’s increasing involvement in district elementary schools.

Dr. Regina Berry was recently hired as Dean of Bloomfield College at Montclair State University.

Her presentation on Critical Race Theory should complete Ridgewood’s trifecta of toxicity found in the water, on the playing fields, and now in children’s education. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uV_U86_0IGc&t=427s

“I am confident that Dr. Berry’s leadership will greatly benefit Bloomfield College of Montclair State University students, faculty and staff while advancing the mission and vision of Montclair and Bloomfield,” says Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Junius J. Gonzales. “Her expertise in curriculum and instruction along with her extensive experience in higher education and outstanding scholarship, makes her the ideal leader to foster effective partnerships and support innovations while maintaining our institution’s commitment to high-quality education.”

DEI in public schools uses a two pronged approach to take shape. The first point spreads a heavy dose of sweets over a broad array of policies and practices. Initially harmless and tasy it entices families and children to nod in agreement with the Baker’s choice.

These changes do promote the type of inclusivity and diversity that an advancing civilization requires. But in appearances only. This is the tradition of excellence that promotes growth, diverse thought and experiences, and strengthens communities.

However, what happens when the shiny and exciting new offering loses the public’s interest? When the facade begins to splinter and the gifts inside seek new environs?

A soft despotism solidifies as the District’s Strategic Plan. A despotic faction of administrators and special interest advocates work in secret to dismiss traditions, laws, and wield power with impunity.

This is on full display with the Ridgewood Public School educrats. These socialist pseudo intellectuals, emboldened by BOE members (who need a Hanlon’s Razor matrix to consider future electability), have softened children and families into a complacent politeness.

The ugly truth of DEI is not that a horse can talk, bur rather that it is a harmful and divisive political, legal, and educational ideology that correlates to the rising rate of childhood mental illnesses; decline in registrations; increase in budgets, drop in testing scores; rise in discipline rates; struggle with teacher retention and the extreme partisanship of the NJEA members and its leadership.

These agenda driven automatons from the Village’s Board of Education are worth listening to for reasons other than their competence and good faith efforts of continuing Ridgewood’s “Tradition of Excellence.” It is time now to observe their actions and listen to their words.

Otherwise, this town will be looking for its own St. Patrick within a couple of years.

  1. How does any of this relate to Ridgewood? Unless I’m missing something, the Dean of Bloomfield College was not hired or engaged by the Ridgewood School district in any capacity. DEI can in fact be divisive but it cuts both ways when the media (like this junk blog post) peddle in clear faslehoods.

    1. Your mistake is coming here and expecting something other than junk.

And DEI can, in fact, be divisive? No, it’s fundamentally and actively divisive — that’s the point.

    2. The Dean of Bloomfield has a background in curriculum and instruction. She talks freely about Critical Race Theory and the implementation of it within schools. I would guess that she then teaches teachers to develop this practice inside of their own classrooms?

  2. This story was all over the place. The writer found it hard to make any points. A creative writing exercise.

I suggest submitting it to AI for editing suggestions.

    1. These AI bots are getting catty.

  3. This Village needs a complete turnover in the BOE, the sooner the later. Even a hint of this nonsense needs to be snuffed out.
