Ridgewood NJ, on Tuesday June 15th 2021 , the East Saddle River footbridge at the bottom Kingsbridge Lane was closed with caution tape and horses. One Wednesday , additional plywood blockades were installed by the Ridgewood maintenance crew, as they unsecured a portion of broken fencing. A Village source told the Ridgewood blog ,”the bridge is shot” .
The footbridge in stalled in the 1970’s (?) a one time a very good fishing spot is actively used by residents on both sides of East Saddle River Road . Mayor Knudsen is actively advocating footbridge repair. Village Hall engineers inspected and assessed the footbridge on Thursday and assured neighbors that paperwork has been started to fix the bridge.
At Wednesday nights February 28th the Village Council adopted the funding ordinance for both the West Glen Avenue sidewalk project and the Kingsbridge Lane bridge repair. These projects have been advocated for and discussed at many prior Council meetings and will now be engineered, bid and constructed.

That bridge was damaged in 1999 when we experienced another big major flood called( Floyd) . i’m sure the village received funds from FEMA back then. We thought engineering said last year that the bridge wasn’t repairable. Now it is which is it. If it is repairable then where did engineering come up with this info. Something is going on. if it is repairable, how much is that going to cost, we know the replace it it’s over 1 million, which sounds very expensive. We would like to see all the bids that came in.
the “engineering department” could make more money with a new bridge
Who mustache boy. A.k.a. the gimp..
Better spent money here than a pavilion for a private business at Habernickel
Let’s just be perfectly clear that they are bonding for these two projects, borrowing the money, at the added expense to the taxpayers. However, they’ve come up with cold hard cash for two big sports projects, one is for the little ones to find shelter from Baseball games up at Habernickel and the other is to have $700,000 worth of lighting at vets. Borrowing for public safety paying out right for sports. Think about that.
Exactly more bullshit stories
People from my experience don’t trust any one from the Village Hall, they all have some bullshit story, they are professional liars.
How’s that budget going? What’s the increase this year?
