Ridgewood NJ, On Saturday, November 18, the Pro Arte Chorale of Ridgewood will present its interpretation of “Carmina Burana.”
Originally a collection of poems and dramatic texts from the 11th or 12th century, Carmina Burana gained popularity after its discovery in 1803 and has since become a widely adapted and beloved piece performed by choirs worldwide. Pro Arte’s rendition is based on Carl Orff’s adaptation of the original texts. The composition boasts a diverse range of pieces, encompassing romantic ballads, satirical reflections on the church and government, drinking songs, and more. This performance is part of the Pro Arte Chorale’s 60th-anniversary season, making it a fitting celebration.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at West Side Presbyterian Church. Ticket prices are $35 for adults, $30 for seniors, and free for attendees aged 18 and under. For additional information about the show or the Pro Arte Chorale, please visit their website or call 201-497-8400.
