And only after lawmakers passed a new disclosure law (now under legal challenge). The gig was up and NDNJ knew it.

A TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY firehouse has emerged from long neglect to become the center of a dispute between development and preservation. At issue is whether the village’s oldest remaining municipal building should be restored, revamped or flattened for downtown parking space.

The three-story red brick structure, barely 40 feet wide, has at various times housed the police station, jail, municipal court and village offices, as well as fire headquarters. But it was built for service, not for style.

Reader Blasts High Density Housing and Fairshare Housing

high density housing hero

” High density housing is pitched as some great humanitarian effort of sorts, but in reality is nothing more than exploitation of the poor and of a communities resources, for the profit of an outside interest (a corporation, investors/developers etc.) That profit will be dangled in front of your counsel members, commissioners and elected officials, and they will be corrupted by it, selling their community off for personal monetary gain. Communities must come together to support & educate each other in order to say NO to these proposals and not be fooled by the smoke & mirrors sales pitch story of housing shortage and increased revenues. “

Parmaus NJ, Who knew that planning and designing a new hospital from the ground up would involve glue guns, yarn, cardboard and other craft materials! It may seem like an art class, but we’ve really been working hard (together with  Hurley Palmer Flatt Group !) to move forward with the process of planning The “New” Valley Hospital. Staff involvement and input has been an integral part of the process.

Teams from services including Patient Admitting, the Surgical Suite, Same Day Surgery, Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs, Diagnostic Imaging and Emergency Services, met for a 5-day, hands-on “3P” workshop event (Production, Preparation, Process). During the multi-day “3P event,” the teams created and tested potential designs. This included designing layouts to scale, building full-size room mock ups, and testing the flow of patients, visitors and services throughout each area!
