Ridgewood School Board Regular Meeting Monday August 27 2018 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Ridgewood NJ, the next Board of Education meeting will be Monday August 27 2018 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Education Center, 49 Cottage Place.

At all regular meetings, two opportunities are provided for citizens to make comments. The public comment periods will be scheduled after presentations. or just prior to the end of the meeting, whichever occurs first. The first opportunity may be limited by the presiding officer . in order for the Board to continue with its scheduled agenda. The second opportunity will occur at the discretion of the presiding officer taking into consideration a break point in the agenda.

At every opportunity for public comment, citizens are invited to comment on subjects on the agenda or general topics.
At the discretion of the presiding officer, public comments may be permitted at other times.

ICE Deports Former Nazi labor camp guard Jakiw Palij back to Germany

Washington DC, Jakiw Palij, a former Nazi labor camp guard in German-occupied Poland and a postwar resident of Queens, New York, has been removed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to Germany, Attorney General Jeff Sessions of the U.S. Department of Justice, Secretary Kirstjen M. Nielsen of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and ICE Deputy Director and Acting Director Ronald D. Vitiello announced today. ICE removed Palij based on an order of removal obtained by the Department of Justice in 2004.

Bucco,  Assemblymen Robert Auth and John DiMaio , allowing local emergency volunteers to continue serving their communities without fear of losing their state pension was signed today by Governor Phil Murphy.

While I vehemently disagree with Clerk Coviello’s perfunctory response to my objections in regard to her certification of the recall petition, I will not see my town foot the bill to defend against a legal challenge to such certification which I believe I can win in court.

“Unified Day on the Course”: United Airlines hosts VIP experience for nine Special Olympics Athletes to play with PGA TOUR pros

Paramus NJ, on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 2PM, United Airlines, the Official Airline of the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions and Web.com Tour, is flying nine Special Olympic athletes—all of whom are top Special Olympic golfers—to THE NORTHERN TRUST for an inside-the-ropes, VIP experience with three PGA TOUR players: Rafa Cabrera Bello, Charley Hoffman, and J.J. Spaun. At The Ridgewood Country Club, the athletes will be escorted to their personal lockers in the locker room and will then participate in a skills clinic led by New Jersey Golf Foundation professionals. Each athlete will then proceed to the first tee of the tournament course to play three holes with one of the top 125 players on the PGA TOUR. Each athlete will be officially announced on the first tee. Following play, the athletes and their guests will attend a reception in the United Airlines Fairway Club.

The Village Council will discuss two resolutions at the Wednesday, February 3rd meeting: one to change the use of the Gate House for recreational and educational purposes, and the second to authorize the signing of the lease between Health Barn and the Village. The vote on these resolutions will not be held until the Council session on February 10th. Ridgewood NJ, on Friday  Ridgewood Firefighters “A” Shift did some Tower Training at Graydon pool .  Hope none looking at these pictures has the fear of heights .

The name of phobia of heights is acrophobia, which is commonly defined as an extreme and irrational fear of heights and high places. Although it is often confused with vertigo or the spinning sensation that is observed when a person looks down from a high place, acrophobia is actually more than just height vertigo.

Murphy Signs DePhillips bill putting New Jersey at the forefront of science and technology

Midland Park NJ,  Legislation (A3652/S2329) sponsored by Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips establishing a state commission on science, innovation and technology is now law.
DePhillips said the new law will help make New Jersey one of the most innovative states in the country in science and technology. New Jersey is currently a global leader in biotechnology, especially pharmaceuticals, but other states have been ramping up their efforts to get the industry to come to them.
