Ridgewood NJ, the RIDGEWOOD SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’s annual holiday winter concert is this Friday, Dec. 1, at the West Side Presbyterian Church starting at 8 p.m.
Pieces from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” will be performed, with dancers from the Kolotov Ballet School joining. Special guest soloists John Cudia and Michelle Jennings will sing select songs from Rodgers & Hammerstein. And a serenade by Richard Strauss will also be played–the “Serenade for Winds in E Flat, Op. 7.”
There will also be a special prelude before the 8 p.m. performance, in which students in grades 5 through 9 from the Young Musicians Festival will play beside orchestra members. The prelude starts at 7:45 p.m.
For 84 years, the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra has offered high-level performances by local musicians, and education of the next generation of musicians has been central to the RSO mission.
General admission tickets cost $35, senior tickets are $25, and students pay $5. For more information, visit https://www.ridgewoodsymphony.org/
