Ridgewood NJ, Unlawful left turns into and out of the Starbucks drive through on Franklin Avenue will be more difficult to execute once the installation of new curbing, sidewalks, and access ramps is complete. The coffee shop is temporarily closed, and will remain closed during construction.
In November of 2018 ,the Village has begun enforcing a recently passed local ordinance that prohibits left turns into and out of the Starbucks drive through restaurant on Franklin Avenue.
In July of 2019 there was a major public out cry over illegal turns at the drive thru.
You think this fix hasn’t been tried elsewhere?
The problem isn’t the road, it’s the people.
About time enforcement is happening.
Right, Have a Bergen county police officer on that street to take care of the situation. That stretch is owned by Bergen county, it’s their responsibility if there’s a safety issue there. How come in Ridgewood Bergen county roads are in terrible shape and always the last ones to be resurfaced. I’ve been living on Bergen county Road in the Village of Ridgewood for 40 years and it’s always a problem. Did someone piss someone off in the county It seems like Bergen county doesn’t wanna work with Ridgewood at all. They don’t like the way we do politics in the way we handle things isn’t that funny. They must know more than the average citizen Ridgewood. Because it shows.
Now if they can just get drivers to stop blockin gthe TD Bank drive-in driveway.

Who were the idiots who originally approved this Starbucks location? Did nobody think this would have happened?
Dirty pay off ‘s
People on the road have terrible driving skills. They don’t use their blinkers, go through lights, don’t stop at stop signs for the most part, don’t understand that in an intersection if you both get there at the same time the car on the right of you has the right of way. If you are making a left and don’t make it fast enough to run a pedestrian over they’ll blast their horn at you. And I’m not even mentioning the cars that are tricked up with the loud mufflers and they fly over the speed bumps. How do they get their licenses?
Driving through the CBD is ridiculous. Especially New Jersey transit bus is flying through the town. There should be speed humps throughout the CBD you slow down course traffic. Just like they have on Broad Street it works.
So very true that is a Bergen county Road so it’s their responsibility not the Village of Ridgewood. Bergen County Police Department traffic control should be handling the traffic problem at that location. They should be Writing tickets. End of the story.
JUST PUT UP A BLOCK TO PREVENT ILLEGAL LEFT TURN. WHY PUNISH A VIBRANT BUSINESS THAT PATRONS WANT?
