Ridgewood NJ, LGBT Pride Month occurs in the United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world and the Village of Ridgewood has  posted its support in Van Neste park on the newly erected flag pole with a  “Rainbow” or “Pride” flag.

The Village however has failed to use the more inclusive “More Color More Pride” flag created by Black Lives Matter . “More Color More Pride” flag adds one black and one brown stripe to the traditional six colored rainbow. The new design will be, from top to bottom: black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple making the flag more inclusionary to people of color.

After weeks of “George Floyd” racial justice protests including several locally you would think the Village would be more sensitive .

  1. Good pics on Twitter last week of the 18 and 19-year old Americans huddled in pillboxes headed towards Omaha Beach 76 years ago…

  2. Here’s a thought: the country is being looted by unaccountable technocrats. Examples:

    1. Over the last 30 years our industrial base was offshored with the sole purpose of transferring wealth and power to the elites. Even though it’s clear that the impact on America’s strength and Americans’ wealth is enormously negative.

    2. A private university is a scam machine, peddling massively overpriced accreditations to desperate students seeking to protect themselves in an economy where there are fewer and fewer jobs in actually making things.

    3. The FED is pumping trillions to stock market speculators who invest in a narrower and narrower list of publicly traded companies who in term buy up independent businesses, further entrenching their monopods tic power. While the government regulators responsible for antitrust enforcement are asleep at the wheel.

Amid all that, the dumbass plebs are squabbling what color stripes should go on a flag. Incidentally marrying lgbt with political Islam! That’s 2 opposing ideologies represented with a single flag. The technocrats are laughing themselves into stupor observing how dumb you are.

  3. We as a society are clearly trying to evolve in terms of managing racism which, like it or not, is a part of everyone. This is a complicated subject that we all develop due to various stimuli, including life experiences.

The problem with what is happening now is that we’re in a period of doubting and questions ourselves, and the crackpots, anarchists, and extremists are being given a very big seat at the table.

  4. This is by far the least racist country I’ve ever lived in. And I’ve been across 4 continents.

Racism is a buzz word to distract the population. To turn us against each other. The more we talk about it, the more we perceive everything through that lens. Instead of seeing what’s really going on: rampant ineptitude of our institutions, theft of nation’s wealth by the elites and brainwashing of our children by failed specialists.

On one level I want to agree – a dialogue about race is due. On the other hand, no such dialogue is possible when the Left is on the other end of the table.

Because of that, I disagree with the previous commentator. In my view, time for dialogue is over. Normal, hardworking, law abiding citizens have been pushed too far.

As far as I’m concerned there will be no discussion about race until we give power back to elected officials, overriding corporatist and elitist interests. Then, like civilized people, we can talk about race. But I suspect by then there would be no need to.

Why? Because Americans of all races want the same thing – opportunity to do well. And from my observation the biggest obstacle to that isn’t race or gender or any of the popular corporate leftist buzzword. It’s corporate leftists themselves and their non-elected allies in the government.

  5. You should really check your facts. This flag was not created by Black Lives Matter. In June 2017, the city of Philadelphia adopted a revised version of the flag designed by the marketing firm Tierney that adds black and brown stripes to the top of the standard six-color flag, to draw attention to issues of people of color within the LGBTQ community. There are many variations of pride flags and this is just one.

  6. you dopes realize PJ is making fun at your expense

  7. “This is by far the least racist country I’ve ever lived in. And I’ve been across 4 continents.”

I agree. I used to live in London. There are signs in the soccer stadiums that read: “Racism will not be tolerated”

The very fact that they have to put up signs tells you everything you need to know.

But, I think we in the US have a problem, too.

  8. The rainbow is a symbol of inclusiveness. The colors of the stripes do not represent skin colors except on Sesame Street puppets. Note that there is no white stripe because there is no white in the rainbow–nor is there black or brown. Adding them to the design was probably well intentioned but messes up the message. The rainbow already includes all. Let it alone.

  9. WHERE’S THE WHITE STRIPE ?????

  10. India is terribly racist

  11. My 97 year old uncle was a translator in WWII. Pulled him out of Georgetown and taught him Japanese.

The Greatest Generation was the most selfless group of Americans we have ever known.

  12. I can’t keep up, going back to quarentine it’s safer

  13. Pretty soon everyone’s going to have their own flag, this is all bullshit. I don’t want to hear any particular race, color, religion, whatever your ethnic background is no one cares. In the end all colors all religions all people matter.

  14. Although the three white morons in Franklin Township who mocked George Floyd’s execution by police deserve the death penalty themselves…

And therein lies a big part of the problem…

“A New Jersey corrections officer has been suspended and a FedEx worker fired after a video showed the two men, who are both white, mocking George Floyd’s death at a protest.”

…. You can fire people in the private sector for hate crimes like this, but not unionized public sector workers!!!!

    The unions are blocking reforms!
