Shockingly enough, research has shown that our indoor air may contain an even higher percentage of pollution. Failing to keep a clean and healthy indoor environment will show its effect on our health in many ways. 

If you’ve been suffering from unexplained asthma or respiratory conditions, then it may very well be the culprit. Aside from obvious health conditions, you may find yourself feeling irritated, stressed, fatigued, or unfocused for no reason. Turns out, the uninvited predators living in your indoor air may very well be the culprits.

Combustion devices, gas-fueled appliances, and even electrical appliances can give rise to gases that hang around and creep, silently and invisibly, in your living space.

Just as the gases emitted from various appliances make themselves at home invisibly, the air in your rooms may be filled with particles gathered from different sources. The simplest example is the aftermath of dusting your furniture without proper ventilation. The dust particles remain hanging in the air with nowhere to go; until you breathe them into your system. Simply speaking, ventilation means air and sunlight. Make sure to make room for fresh air and sunlight to enter all your rooms and refresh your house. The air will take out the pollution and the sunlight will kill most of the germs floating in the air. However, make sure your efforts are not counterproductive by ensuring the quality of your window filters. You don’t want to ventilate your house only to add in more outdoor pollutants.

6.Use Air Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers

Using air humidifiers and dehumidifiers is another great way to ensure the quality of your indoor environment. These solutions come in handy especially if you’re living in a crowded area or a poor-ventilated house. While a humidifier will balance the room environment and continuously filter the pollutants out of the air, a dehumidifier will remove excess humidity from the air. Nowadays, most of us have built enough environmental awareness to realize all the pollution that surrounds us whenever we set foot out of our houses.
