Allendale NJ, on January 5th the Allendale Mayor and Council held its annual Reorganization Meeting. Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips presented Mayor Ari Bernstein and Councilman Steve Sasso proclamations honoring their service to the Borough. Amy Wilczynski was sworn in as Allendale’s new Mayor. Tyler Yaccarino joined Matt O’Toole in being sworn in as members of the Council.
Rounding out the evening was the swearing-in of our Allendale Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corp. leadership. Last but not least we had the swearing-in of Allendale’s newest Police Officers John Rubino and Mark Dunn, Jr.
Wilczynski joined the Borough Council in 2009 and was sworn in to her third term in 2015. Among the major developments during Wilczynski’s time in office have been the purchase of the Black Millwork property for $13.75 million in 2016, the new bandshell for Crestwood Lake in 2017, and most recently the $18 million sale of its water system to Veolia New Jersey in December.
The Black Millwork property was originally suppose to host a new municipal building and the Allendale library would be expanded into the existing Borough Hall at 500 W. Crescent Ave. However, changes in work habits during COVID have allowed the borough offices to remain where they are. Instead, the Black Millwork property will house a 70-unit, four-story apartment complex behind a community center with a gym and all-purpose room.

Was Saraceno involved in this heist…?
Allendale is losing it’s soul.
$18 million for their water, can you imagine what Ridgewood water is worth. Especially if they just invest in 50 million
