Reader calls ,One Village One Vote, Ridgewood Moms and Dads ” a bigger Nexus”

Ridgewood 3 amigos

Look at what’s “common” behind these five names. Then follow the money. This has nothing to do with BOE. This is a bigger operation with deep pockets (same connections to last two council candidates .. who ran within a couple of years after moving to the town)..and same connections with the other guy who ran within a couple of years after moving here in 2008.
This is a bigger Nexus.

Ridgewood Library Sought Architectural Plans before Public Input

Ridgewood NJ according to Steve Kim on the Facebook page ,” It Takes a Ridgewood Village” Kim points out that in Library minutes excerpts from 2015 there is no mention of user survey. The library went straight to architects and Gisolfi was chosen. What are the chances they back up and incorporate resident input?

Reader says , “Council hand picked and created a bogus AdHoc committee and claimed the 5 appointed members are the voice of neighbors”

schedler field 2

“Why are the neighbors, who opposed the original project are supporting this new project?”

How is this a representation of the neighborhood? Schedler AdHoc Committee: Ramon Hache, Michael Sedon, Michael Winograd, Nancy Bigos, Matthew Cunningham, Dan Cramblitt, Tim Cronin, Manish Shrimali, Nick Whitney, Phil Dolce, Paul D’Arpa, Ellie Gruber

Neighbors are not supporting this project. Council hand picked and created a bogus AdHoc committee and claimed the 5 appointed members are the voice of neighbors. The Council completely ignored procedure and the hundreds of public statements given at the Public Meetings. Instead of creating a plan based on required public comments, they went with a plan created behind closed doors-by a hand full of pro field people. FACTS
Here is just one evening of meeting minutes. There are many more.

Deputy Mayor calls out Misrepresentations of “One Village One Vote” group on School Budget Vote

02

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Moms and Dads Facebook page ; a page censored by its Admin had an interesting conversation.

Deputy Mayor Knudsen decided to correct the misinformation that’s being propagated by the One Village One Vote group, she pointed out the inaccuracies in Matt Lindenberg’s post that > 2% annual increase in Budget automatically calls out the budget vote and clarified that use of exceptions/ exemptions the BOE budget can exceed 2% without a November vote, Dan Creed further clarified that the exception items can easily hit the 10% increase without an actual Budget vote, he also explained that through ‘Bank the difference’ any year where the budget doesn’t increases 2%, the Difference can be reserved for next year, essentially the tax payers have no control on this perpetual increase without the budget vote.

Village One Vote group that is looking to take away Ridgewood residents right to vote on the Ridgewood School budget. Using a ruse claiming non November elections are low turnout and therefor expensive . The group omits to mention that to eliminate the April vote would eliminate the school budget vote . The Ridgewod School budget currently stands at $111,000,000 and accounts for over 60% of your tax dollars

Reader Questions Elks Purchase

Ridgewood Elks

“Does it make sense that the Elk’s Club was purchased via the Ridgewood Water utility (100% owned by the Village) for $1.2 million, and now it will cost another $3 million to redevelop? When the original cost proposed by the Village Council majority was under $2 million? Given the likely change orders, and the fact this Village couldn’t manage running a lemonade stand, we’re talking $5+ million for a building to house 30 Ridgewood Water employees right in the CBD. One that doesn’t even have parking for their trucks. How does this make any sense to taxpayers when there so much empty Class A & B office space to lease in Bergen County? It only makes sense to a Council majority that has promised space in Village Hall to the police department”
