Bergen County Executive : COVID Update by Town

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco gave a county wide COVID19 update as of 12pm Friday, January 8, 2021, there are 50,763 total presumptive positive cases identified in Bergen County as per the CDRSS system; impacting all 70 municipalities.** As of today, 40 Long Term Care (LTC) facilities in Bergen County report at least one active presumptive positive case as per NJDOH.
We have sadly lost 2,102 Bergen County residents and our County mourns their loss and offer condolences to their loved ones; we continue to grieve as a community for the precious lives lost.

Strong winds and hazardous gusts throughout PSE&G’s service territory caused downed trees, branches and wires. As of 4 p.m., approximately 5,800 of our 2.3 million customers were without service. The majority of those customers are in Bergen County.

Bergen County to Provide a Vaccination Program for Healthcare Employees at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center

Hackensack  NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco announces that the County of Bergen in partnership with Bergen New Bridge Medical Center anticipates the arrival of 1000 doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine within the next week. The CDC and State DOH have established the priority of vaccine recipients and these doses will serve Bergen County category 1A healthcare workers who have not received the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine through their employer or the federal Pharmacy Partnership for Long Term Care (LTC) Program administered through CVS and Walgreens. Last week, all five Bergen County hospitals received shipments of the Pfizer BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.

Ridgewood NJ, Public Service Electric & Gas, New Jersey’s largest utility, is monitoring the forecast and preparing for the strong winds, heavy snow and possible flooding Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. These conditions may cause tree limbs to break and pull down wires, causing power interruptions. PSE&G has a full complement of staff ready to respond, has performed system checks on critical transmission and distribution equipment, and performed logistics checks to ensure the availability of critical materials, fuel and other supplies.

Vehicle Collision Sends SUV Careening into a Columbia Bank Branch in Rochelle park

Rochelle Park NJ, The impact of a two (2) vehicle, Tuesday night, 12/08, crash at the intersection of Plaza Way and Rochelle Avenue in Rochelle Park propelled one of the vehicles into the exterior wall of a nearby bank building. Rochelle Park Police, Rochelle Park EMS, Paramus Police, and Paramus Fire Engine Company #4 responded to the incident. An adult female driver of one of the crashed vehicles reported minor, crash related injuries. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by tow trucks. Damage to the building appeared to have been minor in nature; however, a building inspector was summoned to evaluate same.
