Maybe you accidentally left the lights on in your car. Maybe you got stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the beach with the air condition on and your vehicle endured a sweltering hot summer heat wearing down the battery.  

Car batteries die for a variety of reasons including loose or corroded battery connections, persistent electrical drains, charging problems, constantly demanding more power than the alternator can provide, old age and even extreme weather. Remember that even leaving electronics like GPS or cell phones plugged into a car charger can drain the battery, too.

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco has issued an updated executive order extending the declared county state of emergency with modifications in accordance with Governor Phil Murphy’s ongoing plan to relax restrictions on low-risk activities. Executive Order No. 2020-01G specifically addresses the reopening of additional amenities in county parks, outdoor dining, and non-essential retail.

Bergen County Prosecutor Investigating Body Discovered in the Passaic River in Elmwood Park

Elmwood Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the investigation into the discovery of a body floating in the Passaic River in Elmwood Park on Sunday, May 24, 2020. At approximately 11:20 a.m., the Elmwood Park Police Department received a 911 call reporting a body in the Passaic River. The body was located underneath Broadway on the Elmwood Park/Paterson border. The body was an unidentified male found face down, tangled in debris. The Elmwood Park Fire Department rescue boat retrieved the unidentified male and brought him to the Elmwood Park Marina for an examination by the Bergen County Medical Examiner’s Office. The initial assessment did not reveal any trauma to the body.
