Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced that the State of New Jersey has issued a cybersecurity directive to prohibit the use of high-risk software and services, including TikTok, on State provided or managed devices. The New Jersey Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC), in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology (OIT), will maintain a list of technology vendors and software products and services that present an unacceptable level of cybersecurity risk to the State. The Directive will apply to all departments, agencies, commissions, boards, bodies, or other instrumentalities of the Executive Branch of New Jersey State Government.

The antibody-based blood test could enable faster diagnosis of the disease and faster initiation of therapy. Ridgewood NJ, Revelations of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s involvement in social media censorship have raised voter concerns.
A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports and Miranda Devine’s Laptop From Hell finds that 63% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Congress should investigate whether the FBI was involved in censoring information on social media sites. Ridgewood NJ, ByteDance employees accessed TikTok data for two US journalists and others connected to them. At least two of those employees were based in China and two were working from the US. The data was used during an investigation into internal leaks. TikTok has not indicated whether the data was accessed before or after the company started to route US user data through Oracle. Several senators are working on legislation that would ban TikTok in the US.

Ridgewood NJ, SpaceX filed an application with the US FCC on December 6 for authorization to equip some of its Starlink satellites with direct-to-cellular hardware. The FCC recently authorized SpaceX to launch 7,500 second-generation Starlink satellites before the end of the decade. If the direct-to-cellular hardware is approved, Starlink will be able to provide voice, messaging, and basic web browsing capabilities to mobile devices. SpaceX plans to offer smartphone coverage as soon as 2024.
