Hackensack  NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of REYNALDO ARIEL TARQUINO (DOB:01/05/1995; single; line service technician) of Hackensack, NJ, on charges of endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love and the Hackensack Police Department under the direction of Officer in Charge Captain Michael Antista.

Cooking Fire in Hackensack Displaces Residents a Week Before Christmas

Hackensack NJ, Tuesday afternoon City of Hackensack Deputy 4, Ladder 1, Rescue 1, Engine 2,Engine 4 and Engine 1 were dispatched to 280 Clark Street for an activated fire alarm. Arriving units investigated and found unattended cooking in apartment 4E which caused a grease fire to ignite and activate a nearby sprinkler head. The fire was contained to the kitchen however there was water damage in apartments 3E, 2E and 1E displacing residents until repairs are made. City of Hackensack building department along with fire prevention bureau responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle Takes Out Gas Pump at Route 17 Shell Station in Hasbrouck Heights

Hasbrouck Heights NJ, around 4:30 pm, on Thursday ,Hasbrouck Heights Chief 62, Squad 1, Ladder 1, and Hasbrouck Heights Fire reserve unit, responded to the Shell gas station on route 17N for a vehicle that drove into the gas pumps. Chief 62 confirmed the accident and transmitted a 10-30. An engine from Wood-Ridge Fire Department was requested to the scene.  No injuries reported .

Hackensack NJ, a collision involving two motor vehicles occurred at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Marvin Avenue, resulting in reported injuries. The incident unfolded this afternoon while emergency responders from City of Hackensack Fire Engine 2 were en route to another call. Upon reaching the accident scene, they immediately offered assistance to the injured individuals.

Bergen County Moves to Overcome EMS Shortage

Hackensack NJ, Bergen County officials established the Bergen County EMS in February to address the volunteer shortage at the local level, a situation exacerbated by the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic. Some community-based emergency medical services had to cease operations due to the declining number of volunteers, and the county-operated ambulances have stepped in to address the gap.

Hackensack NJ, according to City of Hackensack Fire officials at approximately 5:43 this afternoon fire dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a possible fire at 345 Hudson Street. Hackensack Engine 1 arrived first and reported a working basement fire. Deputy 1 arrived on scene and assumed command requesting a working fire assignment.

Man Rescued From Burning Building in Hackensack

Hackensack NJ, on Tuesday night at 205 Euclid Ave, a fire broke out at 8:54pm, prompting a swift response from Hackensack firefighters. A 9-1-1 call reported a fire with a trapped occupant sent  first responders rushing to the scene.
