Mahwah NJ, two weeks after Tropical Storm Debby caused significant flooding near the Mahwah train station, Mayor Jim Wysocki has expressed relief that long-awaited repairs are finally underway. The area had been prone to flooding for about a year due to a broken culvert near the tracks, and Wysocki had previously criticized NJ Transit for their slow response.

Mahwah NJ, the former Sheraton Crossroads hotel site is set for a significant transformation following the approval of amendments to its redevelopment plan. Mahwah NJ, scholarships in the amounts of $1,000, $500 and $250 will be awarded to three high school seniors who live in Mahwah.  The theme of the essay scholarship is “In this election year what are the top three challenges the president will face and how do they rectify it?”  The scholarship is offered to any high school senior who lives in Mahwah and who will attend college or a trade school post-graduation.  Students of any political party affiliation may apply.  Essays must be typed and a minimum of 1,000 words.  All opinions expressed must be the student’s own.  Use of AI, including Chat GPT, are not permitted.  Applicants should include their name, address, email address, phone number, high school in which they are enrolled (or home schooled) and the college or trade school that they plan to attend.  The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2024.

In a shocking deviation from established protocol, Chairman Zisa has rejected all 18 contested candidates recommended by the Mahwah Municipal Chair, and nearly 100 across the entire County, prompting serious concerns of a personal vendetta, gender bias, anti-Semitism, and a blatant disregard for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Our local is very involved in donating and participating in Special Olympics activities that range from the Polar Plunge to the SnowBowl flag football tournament at MetLife Stadium.
