Ringwood NJ, Senator Holly Schepisi called on the Murphy administration to reverse its decision to cancel swimming completely at Ringwood State Park for the 2021 season due to a shortage of lifeguards.

“There are labor shortages all across New Jersey in virtually every industry,” said Schepisi (R-39). “Aside from the Murphy administration, everyone else is finding a way to adapt even if it means operating with fewer staff on a limited schedule. Why can’t that happen at Ringwood State Park? It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.”

NJ State Police Seeking Public’s Assistance Identifying Man Who Shot and Struck a Vehicle on Interstate 78

Bedminster Township NJ, The New Jersey State Police are investigating a shooting incident where a man shot and struck a vehicle in Bedminster Township, Somerset County.
On Wednesday, July 7, troopers from Troop “B” Perryville Station responded to Interstate 78 westbound in the area of milepost 28 where the driver of a Toyota Camry alleged that her vehicle was struck by gunfire.
Based on the preliminary investigation, at approximately 8:25 p.m., following an apparent road rage incident, the driver of a large black newer model SUV with Pennsylvania license plates fired a weapon and struck the victim’s vehicle. The suspect continued traveling westbound and fled the scene.
A detective with the New Jersey State Police Forensic Imaging Unit created a composite sketch of the suspect.
Anyone traveling on I-78 westbound between Exit 26 and Interstate 287 during 8:20 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on July 7, that may have seen anything or had a activated dashboard camera is asked to contact the Perryville Station Detective Bureau at 908-730-7042. Anonymous tips are welcome.

Pompton Lakes Township, NJ, Three New Jersey State Troopers pulled a man from his vehicle and applied a tourniquet to his leg to help save his life after a car crash on Interstate 287 in Pompton Lakes Township, Passaic County.
On July 4, at approximately 8:06 p.m., troopers from Totowa Station and Netcong Station responded to a motor vehicle crash on Interstate 287 northbound at milepost 54.8. When Trooper II George Ward arrived, he discovered that a Kia Forte struck the rear of a tractor trailer that was parked on the right shoulder. Several on-duty and off-duty first responders advised Trooper Ward that the driver of the Kia was entrapped in the vehicle and was in and out of consciousness.

Fairview NJ, on Sunday July 4th, New Jersey Transit Police officers were deployed at heightened alert to protect travelers throughout the holiday weekend. Officer Graybill was patrolling near Tonnelle Avenue Station. He observed a Newark Fire Department vehicle that had recently been reported stolen. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and posed an immediate threat to public safety.
