Park Ridge NJ, Since January 19, 1979, Lawrence “Larry” Goodman has been missing from Park Ridge, New Jersey, just a day after his 16th birthday. A missing poster suggests that Larry informed his family of his intention to travel to Miami, Florida, for the Super Bowl on January 21. Dateline interviewed Larry’s brother, James “Jim” Goodman, who mentioned that there were speculations about Larry attending the Super Bowl, but this was never confirmed. Larry, described as a bit of a loner in his youth, had a history of disappearing, but he was gradually emerging from his shell before his disappearance. After returning home just before his birthday, it was revealed that Larry had spent a three-week period in Pittsburgh, becoming a fan of the Steelers. Despite extensive searches and media coverage when he first went missing, there was a lack of attention when he vanished for the second time. Larry’s brother, Jim, continues to advocate for answers and wrote a fictional book in 2016 about Larry’s disappearance. Jim hopes for closure, emphasizing the need for any evidence or remains to shed light on Larry’s fate. Larry would be 60 years old today, and anyone with information is urged to contact the New Jersey State Police Department Missing Persons Unit or the Park Ridge Police Department at (201) 391-5400.
