Ridgewood NJ, this issue has come up often over the years on the Ridgewood blog ,many people prefer to post anonymously and with good reason. Originally the Ridgewood blog adopted a policy of allowing anonymous posts to protect dissident parents for the School Board and Administrators . The policy became proven when Mayor Paul Aronsohn used the phone “civility” to curtail dissent and even enlisted the help of the old Bergen Record owners to go after Ridgewood dissenters and “gadflies”.

Expressing a dissenting opinion in public forums can sometimes lead to backlash, especially when it comes to hot-button topics like local sports or community projects. A recent example from Ridgewood demonstrates exactly why anonymity is often necessary for some individuals to feel safe sharing their views.
