No Injuries Reported in Blaze That left Home Uninhabitable in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters received numerous telephoned reports of a house fire in the 400 block of George Street, Ridgewood shortly after 0945 hours on Monday morning, 04/17. Arriving firefighters observed heavy black smoke emanating from the single family house and immediately began fire suppression operations. No injuries were reported in the blaze, which rendered the house uninhabitable. Ho-Ho-Kus  firefighters assisted at the scene. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Emergency Services, and Ridgewood OEM personnel also responded to the incident.

The Bolger Foundation, has recommitted its $1 million matching donation in support of the Ridgewood Library’s current renovation plans

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Public Library is excited to announce that the Bolger Foundation, a longtime supporter of the Ridgewood Library Foundation, has recommitted its $1 million matching donation in support of the Ridgewood Library’s current renovation plans. “This donation will allow us to expand our current plans to renew other areas of the library including our much-used auditorium and upgrade our technology training room to showcase our maker space equipment and programs,” said library director Lorri Steinbacher. Ridgewood NJ, congratulations to Ridgewood Emergency Services April member of the month Rahil Bhatia. Rahil is a probationary member of Special Operations and a TIES Sergeant. He has been involved in the department since 2019. Rahil is inspired to help those in community where he has grown up and fortunate to work with a passionate group of volunteers. Rahil is currently a senior at Ridgewood High School and looks forward to attending the University of Michigan the fall.
