Ridgewood NJ, on Saturday the Ridgewood Guild held it’s 12th Annual Winterfest! Winterfest took place in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square right on Ridgewood Avenue. It was a cold, brisk day but our turnout was great! The event featured Ice sculptures, music and singing , a horse drawn hayride as well as complimentary hot chocolate, candy canes, a trackless train ride, storytelling and even Santa !
Ridgewood NJ, Cards of Joy – Sponsored by The Ridgewood Stigma Free Committee – Deadline is December 15th – The Ridgewood Stigma Free Committee is sponsoring a “Cards of Joy” holiday greeting campaign to encourage everyone to create a greeting card that is colorful, creative and decorative or create a card with a heartfelt message, which will be distributed to older residents in Ridgecrest or SHARE Senior Housing and at New Bridge Medical Center. Inside the card, write a letter, starting with “Dear Friend” and then signing your first name. Do not put a date on it. In the letter, think about what the recipient might like to read and offer encouraging advice about the small joys in life, in a positive, motivating and joyful way. Wish them a healthy and happy holiday season. No envelope is needed, just drop your card off at the Reception Desk in the lobby of Village Hall, the special mailbox at the Ridgewood Public Library for “Cards of Joy” or the mailbox at New Bridge Medical Center, no later than December 15, 2021. The goal is to collect 1,000 cards of heartfelt wishes.

Downtown for the Holidays Presents “Trucks on Holiday”– 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. – Sponsored by The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce –This year’s theme of “Trucks on Holiday” is for the young and young at heart! Village vehicles will be on display and decorated for the holidays, on both the east side and west side of the Central Business District. Take a stroll through the pedestrian tunnel at the train station, to easily enjoy all of the events. Gaze and take pictures at the beautiful lit trees (located at Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and Broad Street, and at the train station parking lot). There will also be s’mores at Memorial Park at Van Neste Square, music and merriment on the streets, see the “Grinch”, wave to Santa in his cart, and ride the trackless train. East Ridgewood Avenue will be closed down to vehicles from North Maple Avenue to Broad Street beginning at 4:30 p.m., which will create a pedestrian plaza. The west side parking area at Garber Square, will also be closed to vehicles. Enjoy our small businesses and eateries before, during or after this annual event.
