“I’ve had a bunch of senior citizens that live alone call me over the past couple of days. Many are not online and have no way of getting around. Please “adopt a senior” if you can. This could include making sure they are set up for Swiftreach, have essentials in their cupboard or whatever. Sometimes they just want to talk on the phone and hear someone’s voice. We are such a great community, continue paying it forward. My list is growing if anyone can help out.”
Ridgewood NJ, Does anybody think it’s a good idea to ban single use, sanitary plastic bags and replace them with reusable bags that will carry the coronavirus? Maybe these politicians and people who are on the plastic bag bandwagon should get off it and think about what’s best for the community.

Ridgewood NJ, Village manager put out the following detailed email as to the Village of Ridgewood status during the coronavirus outbreak:
As you are probably aware, two Village residents have been confirmed with coronavirus, which was sent out in a recorded phone message last night, by Mayor Hache. Please be aware that the safety of the Village residents and Village employees is the top priority for the Village Council and me. Please continue to watch your emails, listen to the recorded phone messages, and read your text messages from the Village of Ridgewood, in addition to visiting the Village’s website, www.ridgewoodnj.net, for updates. The information about coronavirus is found by clicking on the red banner, at the top of the homepage of the Village website. There are links there for the Center for Disease Control, the NJ Department of Health, and by clicking on “Coronavirus Information” at the top of the Village website, it indicates what you should do to be tested for coronavirus, as well as providing other important information. The NJ Department of Health has set up a hotline, to answer questions about COVID 19, which is: 1-800-222-1222. The Village has also set up an email address: [email protected]to provide resources to answer your COVID 19 questions.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Mayor Ramon M. Hache says ,”social distancing is the most effective way to contain and prevent the spread of the virus” in a Facebook post the Mayor reiterated suggestions of the department of health.
The Mayor said ,”I urge everyone to please take the recommendations of the Department of Health regarding social distancing seriously. At this time, while we are investigating the details regarding confirmed cases, social distancing is the most effective way to contain and prevent the spread of the virus. If you have to be around other people, keep a minimum distance of 6 feet between you when possible, and avoid large social gatherings.”
Ridgewood NJ, Mayor Ramon Hache has confirmed we have 5 confirmed cases of Coronavirus at Valley Hospital. Two of them are Ridgewood residents. While the confirmation of these cases is of great concern, this is not the time to panic. This is the time to work together to contain and prevent the spread of the virus. I urge you to please exercise appropriate social distancing measures. It is the most effective thing you can do to avoid being infected or infecting others. Please continue to adhere to the recommendations of the CDC with regard to washing hands, disinfecting surfaces, and avoiding large gatherings. Common sense is still the best defense. We are continually working with Health Officials and the Office of Emergency Management. As you can appreciate, this is a constantly evolving situation and we will do everything possible to provide you with the most up to date information

Ridgewood NJ, the village council voted on Wednesday to approve a $51 million budget for the 2020 fiscal year which increases property taxes 2.2%.Village home owners will see an $85 tax increase for the average home assessed at $701,997, said Chief Financial Officer Bob Rooney.The budget vote was 4-1 with Councilman Jeffrey Voigt the sole vote against the budget.
