Ridgewood NJ, the retail chain Gap has shuttered two locations in New Jersey as part of a larger store-closing purge. 700 Paramus Park in Paramus and 235 East Ridgewood Ave. in Ridgewood are now closed . The chain still operates 28 Gap stores in New Jersey.
“Don’t any of you realize the state of New Jersey. An and would force us to permit this type of construction or worse? Like them or hate them it is quite irrelevant who is in the town politics. It is our state courts from decades of liberal judges that have been forcing these stupid developments. The reason they are building giant apartments on top of train track is because the state has set tax incentives to do so : see Waldwick station and Allendale etc. The state of NJ thinks this will fight global warming (seriously). Also the developments are being forced on us ever since the mount olive decision in the 80s. See this as an example:

As usual those of us without children get screwed by the state of NJ, with school taxes when we are alive, and with estate taxes when we croak.
Those apartments will be full of temporary 8 year residents who cant afford a down payment on a house.”

We were told these luxury developments would be perfect for villagers to downsize into. They would keep people from having to move away because their 4 bedroom houses were no longer needed and two bedroom places would be perfect.
So, no diversity, just moving old folks down to live by the railroad tracks.
I wonder how many villagers who worked hard their whole lives have in fact given up their colonials, and ranches, and tudors and their backyards and their neighborhoods to sign up to go live in these apartments by the rail road tracks?
That insidious lie was part of the whole scam.”

Ridgewood NJ, Hillary Clinton made headlines earlier this week when she told an interviewer on a podcast that no one in Congress likes Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders. According to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 37% of Likely U.S. Voters say they like Sanders more than Clinton. Just 22% like Clinton more. Thirty-nine percent (39%) don’t care for either one of them. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Among Democratic voters, 45% like Sanders more than Clinton. Thirty-seven percent (37%) prefer Clinton, while 17% say they don’t like either one. So it seems fellow Democrats and voters in general prefer Bernie over Hillary.

Ridgewood NJ, According to Garden State Initiative (GSI) analysis of the newest jobs numbers issued by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, more of New Jersey’s residents are seeking work which led to an uptick in our unemployment rate by 0.1% to 3.5%, matching the U.S. rate which was unchanged. The state reported an increase of 5,700 private sector jobs in December, while adding 800 public sector positions, for a net gain of 6,500. Of note, the state shed jobs in the Construction and Manufacturing sectors, which experienced strong growth nationally.

“People just remember the last recession the villager Ridgewood was it goes down. Meaning we had around 70 stores fronts were empty. And do you know probably a good eight of them were never felt because the rent is so high. Luckily the landlord had insurance. The landlords now are relying on some new stores coming into the CBD within the end of this year they’re just waiting for the housing apartments to be done. It may help we’ll see. It all depends on what kind of clientele. And if they have New York City money while they wouldn’t want those stores to be open later just like Matt. They cannot be closing at 6 o’clock, because most of these people will be getting off the train around seven. And then then when he dinner figure it out. Ordinance will have to be changed to survive it’s the only way. The mayor and council are building a small New York City they want my hat and money well guess what people things will be changing throughout the CBD to survive. All these people getting off the drains they need to go somewhere and eat, but not going to that shit hole Stop & Shop to pick up food and start cooking it’s not happening we’re in a different world people wake up take a ride to New York City at a weeknight at 10 o’clock people are eating dinner in the restaurant at bat it’s a new generation. Just like the Bergen county Boulevard it’s time for a change they should allow the stores to open up on a Sunday we are losing so much money on a Sunday to all the locations. Bergen County is becoming Manhattan like it or not. Can you imagine owning a business on route 17 or route four and you’re not allowed to open up on a Sunday to make money, and you’re losing 30% off of your business on a Sunday to all the locations because you’re not open. There’s no business on a Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. It’s Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday now. If not then I’ll just order it online and have a delivery service in front your house at 10 o’clock at night oh yes.”

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Water has launched a law suit against a private company they accuse of trespassing and dumping toxic soil at a Ridgewood Water well site ,polluting the water and forcing the shut down of the well, known as the “Ames Well”. This action left the well offline for months. Ridgewood Water immediately reported the incident to the state’s Department of Environmental Protection.

Ridgewood NJ,nominating packets are available for Ridgewood residents who are registered voters and wish to run for and serve on the Ridgewood Village Council. They may be picked up at the Village Clerk’s Office in Village Hall, 131 North Maple Avenue, during the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. The deadline for filing completed nominating petitions is March 9, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.
