Ridgewood NJ, On August 27, 2015 at about 9:30am, the Ridgewood Police Department was called to a house on Olivia Street for a report of a potential burglary as there was a man in the house yelling.
Upon arrival, the residents of the home were evacuated and the house was searched, but no one was located. While checking the area, officers heard someone in the street yelling and observed a large naked man, later identified as Craig Andrews (age 48 from Ridgewood) walking quickly down the street towards the incident location while he was holding a glass bottle of beer in one hand and a small bag in the other.
Mr.Andrews did not listen to officers repeated commands to stop and proceeded to aggressively approach Officer A. Mormino and the residents from the initial call causing Officers to be very concerned for the safety of Officer Mormino and the safety of the residents. Mr. Andrews closed in on Officer A. Mormino even after being repeatedly commanded to stop forcing Officer A. Mormino to deploy the Conducted Energy Device.
Mr. Andrews was then safely taken into custody with the assistance of several Ridgewood Police officers. A short time after as the officers were speaking with Mr. Andrews, he suffered a medical emergency and was transported to the Valley Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Mr. Andrews was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, lewdness, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and obstruction of the administration of law. Mr. Andrews has been released on $40,000 bail pending his court appearance.
All defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

RIDGEWOOD — A 48-year-old village man wearing only a cowboy hat and brandishing a bottle was subdued by police with a stun gun and then appeared to suffer a seizure Thursday morning, Chief John Ward said.
Craig Andrews allegedly ignored repeated commands to stop and kept coming closer to the officers and the residents of a house he is accused of burglarizing, Ward said. Officers used a Taser to arrest him and a few minutes later, he appeared to suffer a seizure. Ward does not believe the seizure was caused by the stun gun.
“He was up and talking to us after the Taser, conversed with us, gave us his name and address and everything else,” Ward said.
Andrews was treated at Valley Hospital and released.

Rockland County Prosecutor Richard Moran said the case against Ludwigsen, the 44-year-old former coach for Nyack College’s softball team, will proceed following Rockland County Supreme Court Judge William Kelly’s ruling Wednesday morning.
Moran said pre-trial motions must be submitted to the court ahead of Ludwigsen’s next hearing, which is scheduled for Nov. 4.

THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS
Village police officers will be cracking down on drunk driving over the next two weeks.
The nationwide campaign, titled “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” will run through Sept. 7. It is aimed at reducing the amount of drunk-driving accidents that typically occur during hectic travel times.
Ridgewood is enforcing the initiative by putting extra patrols on the road focused solely on catching those drinking and driving.
“When an officer is only looking for DWIs, they can concentrate on that. That’s why we see an increase in DWIs during the campaign,” said Sgt. John Chuck of the Ridgewood Police Department.
Chief John Ward said patrol units also park close to the train station and bars to encourage people to take alternate transportation home. He said that police sometimes even call cabs to transport people home safely.
For the month of September, “Portraits” of the 12 residents Ridgewood lost in the Trade Center attack on September 11, 2001, will be displayed in the Ridgewood Library Auditorium which is open 7 days a week.
All are invited to visit this exhibit to reflect and remember –
Richard Blood; Michael Carroll; Daniel McGinley; James Munhall; Charlie Murphy; Steven Paterson; Michael San Phillip; Bruce Simmons; Steven Strobert; Gina Sztejnberg; Jon Vandevander; and Christopher Wodenshek.

Ridgewood NJ, As reported on this blog, Village Officials confirmed this month that an illegal dumping of construction materials took place behind Ridgewood’s composting facility on Lakeview Drive.
Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld said a “couple of truckloads” of asphalt, concrete blocks and other construction material were discovered at Lakeview on July 14 during a regular inspection of the area. The debris was found behind a berm at the back of the facility.
Officials are not sure of the exact date of the dumping, but it is presumed to be sometime between the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s (NJDEP) previous inspection in mid-June and the date of discovery.
Ridgewood Police Capt. Jacqueline Luthcke confirmed last Wednesday the department’s investigation is still active and has been ongoing since
This is going to be the new COLD CASE for the Village of Rdgewood. The person or persons responsible will be name only when the statues of limitations are up for this crime or they are retired and collecting a pension. Either the Police Department Management is inept or the Village Manger is holding back. If the person responsible was a village employee or ” worker bee” they would be gone by now.

RIDGEWOOD — The village council has agreed to pay $55,000 to the state to settle litigation over permit violations allegedly committed by Ridgewood Water.
The council had contested the violation, issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, accusing the utility of drawing too much water into one of its wells.
Ridgewood officials had fought the state on the charges for more than two years. Water utility revenues will pay the settlement amount, officials said.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood and AshleyMadison.com Congratulations, Ridgewood, you rank thirteenth on the list of NJ’s municipalities for marriage infidelity, according to AshleyMadison.com! Hmmm, not something to brag about, I suppose; but, the news is interesting nonetheless.
AshleyMadison.com, for those not in the know, is a meet-up site created specifically for married individuals who want to have those dreamy, lusty secret affairs. Problem is, the site was hacked weeks ago, and the cat’s out of the bag–see the clean pun there?
Reddit compiled a list of the most popular spots to find Ashley Madison’s users, with the attitudinally driven Garden State ranking third among the fifty and Ridgewood ranking thirteenth in the state. In terms of specifics, 6,000 of Ridgewood’s 25,000 residents are Ashley Madison users: a whopping 24% of you, or nearly one out of every four!!! There must be a lot of unhappy matrimony in the beautiful village.
Of course, the numbers aren’t solid, mind you. People lie about where they are and their marital status, zip codes overlap, and how many of those profiles are even legitimate what with duplicates and the like.
For what it’s worth, Ridgewood, you made the cut for social media savvy and networking prowess. (I am a cup half-full kind of guy, after all). What say you?
Ridgewood NJ, Ok so generally we don’t like to cover personal issues but since we have been bombarded with emails we feel a bit compelled to cover the Ashley Madison hack. For those that don’t know Ashley Madison’s core mission is to arrange affairs between married individuals .
After a massive security breach hackers leaked troves of data about Ashley Madison’s users, Avid Life Media, the parent company wants to figure out who did it. And it’s prepared to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for information about the guilty party.
The hackers have posted personal information such as e-mail addresses and account details from 32 million of the site’s members. The group has claimed two motivations: First, they’ve criticized Ashley Madison’s core mission of arranging affairs between married individuals. Second, they’ve attacked Ashley Madison’s business practices, in particular its requirement that users pay $19 for the privilege of deleting all their data from the site (but, as it turns out, not all data was scrubbed).
Avid Life Media is offering $500,000 for information leading to the capture of the perpetrator (or perpetrators). But Avid is a Canadian company, paying out the prize in Canadian dollars. In American greenbacks, that’s about $377,000. Avid Life Media, the parent company of hacked extramarital affairs website.
Several “Reality stars” have been sucked into Ashley Madison scandal including Jionni Lavalle, husband to Jersey Shore alum Snooki.
But now the part you are most interested in according to One Reddit data collection identified New Jersey as third highest on the list of states with the most unfaithful husbands and wives in the country, with more than 300,000 users .(https://raw.githubusercontent.com/jpopham91/jpopham91.github.io/master/assets/img/ashley_madison_statewise.png ) Another website has identified the numbers of users in each county, and each state in the United States, putting those towns on a map called “Malfideleco,” which means “infidelity” in the Esperanto language.Tecnilógica, a Madrid-based digital agency, created the world map that shows the distribution of Ashley Madison users around the world without identifying names. It also analyzed their composition in terms of gender balance .( https://tecnilogica.cartodb.com/viz/56e702fe-4693-11e5-8f79-0e853d047bba/public_map )
According to these websites and the Glen Rock Patch https://patch.com/new-jersey/ridgewood/ridgewood-among-top-100-nj-communities-ashley-madison-affairs the Village of Ridgewood, with 6,158 users came in 13th in the state of New Jersey , ouch! Mind you Trenton the state capitol, with 15,504 came in 3rd. Now the map has been updated several times so the exact numbers are fluid and as we all know IP’s and emails are slippery things often hard to get a location.

THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS
The village is moving forward with a financial feasibility study for a possible parking structure to be built at the Hudson Street lot while officials wait for responses to the request for proposal (RFP) put out seeking a building design.
The study will determine the levels of expected revenue as well as the cost of a new parking garage, said Village Manager Roberta Sonenfeld at the Aug. 12 council meeting.
Included in the analysis will be proposed parking rate schedules for Hudson Street as well as the other village lots and on-street meters, projections for daily and annual income, debt service, cost and operations.
Sonenfeld said the village received proposals from three different firms. After a discussion with the steering committee, there was a recommendation to go with the proposal from New York-based Walker Parking Consultants, the same firm that performed the study to determine whether or not the garage should be automated or self-park.
A resolution to award a contract for the professional parking services was unanimously passed on Aug. 12. The amount in the contract is not to exceed $18,500 with expenses not to exceed $1,000, which will be expended from the $500,000 bond ordinance adopted in July.
