WALLINGTON, NJ — A Bergen County mother has filed a lawsuit against the Wallington Borough, Wallington School District, and a cheerleading coach, claiming negligence after her daughter suffered a severe injury during cheerleading practice in August 2024.
A missing 13-year-old girl was found safe, Wallington police said Friday.
Makayla, 13, whose last name has not been released, was last spotted around 5:45 p.m. April 30, according to the Wallington Police Department. Wallington PD reported around 1 a.m. she had been found safe.
“We extend our sincere thanks to the Little Ferry Police Department and all assisting agencies for their swift and effective response,” Wallington police stated on social media. “We are also grateful to the community for spreading the word and aiding in the search.”
