Will Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache Run For Bergen Freeholder?

Ridgewood NJ, according to David Wildstein of the New Jersey Globe , Bergen County Freeholder David Ganz will not seek re-election to a seventh term.The buzz is that Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache has emerged as a leading candidate to run on the Bergen County Democratic organization line to replace Ganz, a former Fair Lawn mayor who was first elected to countywide office in 2002 has been battling health issues for several years.

Mayor Hache is reportedly the pick of Paul Juliano, who became the Bergen County Democratic chairman last summer. The filing deadline to run for freeholder at the Bergen County Democratic convention is Friday at 4 PM. Candidates must file letters of intent with signatures of at least five county committee members from six different municipalities. If he wins, Hache would become the first Dominican-American to serve on the Board of Freeholders.

Hache is up for re-election this year in Ridgewood and his candidacy for countywide office would create an open seat in the Ridgewood council.

Democrats Donors Get Paid When Bergen County Improvement Authority Borrows Money

Since 2015, when Democrats retook control of the county executive seat and the Freeholder Board, 18 firms have been paid more than $20,000 in fees from no-bid contracts when the Bergen County Improvement Authority has issued bonds, according to a review of BCIA records and campaign finance reports by NorthJersey.com. Volunteers Sought For Regional Team To Respond To Domestic Violence At Police Departments

Midland Park NJ, Bergen County Department of Human Services, division of Alternatives to Domestic Violence (BCDHS/ADV) is currently recruiting volunteers for a regional team that will respond to victims of domestic violence at police departments located in Bergen County municipalities. Volunteers from the community are trained to offer necessary information and referrals to victims at a time when they need it most.

The July operation featured participation from 18 different agencies and resulted in multiple leads that may bring the task force closer to satisfying outstanding criminal arrest warrants, in addition to the eight arrests.
