” It’s funny that when the previous council majority (Paul, Albert, Gwen) are rightly blamed for the over development and false studies on school, anonymous comments blame the current council too. The fact is that no new development was approved by the current council, the same people who were behind the previous majority to get developments approved now make noise about them and make it appear like the current council did it because they know that the village majority is against over development and their candidates are losing just by association. “
” Ramon Hache (who is clearly who you are talking about) had nothing to do with this overdevelopment. This was in the works years ago and residents fought tooth and nail to stop it. They argued for reasonable plans and scope and # of projects. The protests went on for years. And there was no way for them to “slow it down” – it was in the books already! It’s very frustrating when people start blaming the wrong voting “force of nature” for those of us who tried to advocate for right-sized growth. We had no chance. It was a done deal before this Council came in. You should find and question the people who were dead set that this was “right for Ridgewood” and irrevocably voted it into reality. “
“Damn it . The current council cannot stop the building. The current building was put into law by the Three Amigos. And it is a damn rotten lie to say the current council is negotiating for more building. They stopped the Kensignton Assisted Living Center from being built on Chestnut street. YOU YOU should go over and kiss their feet for stopping that. The Kensington corporate execs. tried very aggressively to build in Ridgewood. They tried a couple years ago; they came to a council meeting; and then a few months ago they tried again; they came to a council meeting with a big speech about how their business, assisted living center, would benefit Ridgewood businesses and give a lot of tax dollars to the Village of Ridgewood. But ya know what, Deputy Mayor Susan Knudsen stood strong and said NO NO NO. It would be too crowded for our Village. Deputy Mayor Knudsen and Sedon voted against the multi family housing a fewyears ago, but the Three Amigos outvoted them.”

Ridgewood NJ, The purpose of the Visioning Questionnaire (VQ) was to provide a means to capture the sentiments, opinions, and ideas of as many residents as possible about a wide range of topics in Ridgewood today and into the future.
The results of the VQ, combined with the results of the other methods for engaging residents during the visioning process, will inform the values, principles, goals, and priorities that guide the creation of Ridgewood’s next Master Plan.
Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood Visioning survey will end on May 5th, 2019. The survey will provide the foundation for our new Master Plan and it is incredibly important for Village residents to add their voice and vision by taking just ten minutes to complete the survey. The Master Plan is a guidance document that sets goals, policies, and priorities for investing in the physical, economic, environmental, and social future of a community. A master plan can provide direction in terms of investing in transportation improvements and public facilities, changing zoning regulations, protecting ecologically-sensitive areas, or becoming more environmentally sustainable. Concept plans and other visuals within a master plan can demonstrate ideas and hoped-for outcomes. Importantly, the master plan is the basis for a municipality’s zoning regulations. THE FUTURE OF RIDGEWOOD NEEDS YOUR VISION AND YOUR VOICE! Visit before May 5 and please share this important information with fellow residents.
Here are the Results of the Visioning Questionnaire
More than 2,000 people completed the Visioning Questionnaire, which was launched in October 2018 and closed in May 2019. We spent the summer analyzing the data, which includes reading through the thousands of responses to the short answer questions. We summarized the key findings into a presentation that can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. We also compiled and analyzed the information from the Map Your Vision Tool and prepared a similar presentation that summarizes its results.
The Visioning Questionnaire Summary of Results presentation highlights the outcomes of each question. It also provides commentary about the results that includes excerpts from people’s responses to the short answer questions. The commentary ends with a series of critical Key Questions to Consider that will be discussed in detail at next month’s Visioning Workshops, which are currently scheduled for Saturday, September 21 and Saturday, September 28 at Village Hall. More details on the workshops to come shortly after you return from the Labor Day Holiday!
If you have any comments, questions, and/or reactions about either of these presentations, please send them through the Contact page.

A TURN-OF-THE-CENTURY firehouse has emerged from long neglect to become the center of a dispute between development and preservation. At issue is whether the village’s oldest remaining municipal building should be restored, revamped or flattened for downtown parking space.
The three-story red brick structure, barely 40 feet wide, has at various times housed the police station, jail, municipal court and village offices, as well as fire headquarters. But it was built for service, not for style.

” High density housing is pitched as some great humanitarian effort of sorts, but in reality is nothing more than exploitation of the poor and of a communities resources, for the profit of an outside interest (a corporation, investors/developers etc.) That profit will be dangled in front of your counsel members, commissioners and elected officials, and they will be corrupted by it, selling their community off for personal monetary gain. Communities must come together to support & educate each other in order to say NO to these proposals and not be fooled by the smoke & mirrors sales pitch story of housing shortage and increased revenues. “
