Ridgewood NJ, received this the other day from a reader its from Texas A&M Forest Services with some ideas on what to do with used Christmas Trees :
Many Americans love the experience of having real Christmas trees in their homes for the holidays. But what many don’t realize is producing real Christmas trees also benefits the environment by sequestering carbon while growing and supporting local businesses and tree farmers.
Ridgewood NJ, The Parks Division will be picking up Christmas trees, following the same schedule as last year. This schedule follows a Tuesday/Eastside and Thursday/Westside pattern with trees being picked up on the Eastside of the Village curbside on Tuesdays, January 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th. Trees will then be picked up on the Westside of the Village curbside on Thursdays, January 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please be sure that your Christmas trees are not placed in the street.
Those residents wishing to drop off Christmas trees may bring them to the designated location at the Graydon Pool parking lot anytime from January 6 through 30, 2020.
For additional information please contact the Parks Division Office at 201-670-5565.
Glen Rock NJ, The DPW will begin curbside Christmas tree pickup on Thursday, January 2, 2020. Residents asked to place their evergreen trees ONLY at curbside for daily pickups, until the deadline of January 17th, 2020. Please do not place trees in plastic bags, and make sure there are no foreign objects on the trees such as lighting, garland, decorations, etc. If you have any additional decorating items such as wreaths, garland, etc., which have wiring &/or metal fasteners, please place those items in ordinary household trash for regularly scheduled north/east & south/west collections.
Ridgewood NJ, Several Ridgewood Police officers escorted the Village’s 2019 Christmas Tree from Oakland to the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and North Broad Street on Monday morning, 11/25. Officers also provided traffic control while workers from Downes Tree Service removed the tree from a flatbed trailer and erected it.
Ridgewood NJ, the village has finally gotten its Christmas tree . It took a couple of extra weeks and a massive social media campaign but now the Ridgewood Christmas tree is on its way.
Ridgewood NJ, Mark your calendars for the annual traditional Ridgewood Tree Lighting Celebration.
But first Ridgewood Needs a tree. The village doesn’t have a Christmas tree., and not just any tree. Ridgewood’s Christmas tree is typically 50 to 75 feet tall. It usually comes from somewhere in the greater Ridgewood area. Downes Tree Service has offered to cut, transport, place and trim the tree for free. The tree will even get a police escort to its home at the end of East Ridgewood Avenue.

THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS
Ridgewood’s Christmas tree will be lit this Friday at 8 p.m., as tradition dictates.
Adding to the tradition this year is a particularly special, and seasonally appropriate, gesture.
The tree was taken from the Midland Park home of the uncle and aunt of Waldwick Police Officer Christopher Goodell, who was 32 years old and engaged to be married when he lost his life this past summer in a tragic car accident while he was on the job.
The tree is meant to honor the beloved police officer, ringing in the true meaning of the season.
In the same spirit, the Goodell family has been invited by the village to help light the tree on Friday night.
