Ridgewood NJ, at Mondays Ridgewood Board of Education meeting Dr. Fishbein explained that, when news came out about concerns regarding rubberized gym floors, the district had our rubberized gym floor at the high school tested. Although the test results indicated that the mercury levels were below the level of concern, the district is moving forward with remediation and replacement of the floor. LAN will prepare the bid specs and the architecture for the replacement of the gym floor. The environmental group is developing the bid specs for the remediation. If we remain closed for the rest of the school year, we may begin work on this project sooner.

TRENTON NJ,  Governors in a handful of Northeastern States held a conference call to discuss a regional plan for reopening the economy when it’s time to lift some restrictions on the public and businesses. NFIB believes it is important to have those discussions now because a huge number of small businesses are in a financial crisis of immense proportions.  While the business owners do want their employees and customers to be safe, a recent survey by NFIB showed most of these companies’ cash reserves could run out in one to two months making reopening not an option.

Ridgewood School Home School Day 16 ,Due to COVID 19

GALERIE

April 13, 2020

Dear Ridgewood School Community,

I hope you had a restful break. I was able to tackle many of the house projects that I have been peddling these past few weeks. My kids may not agree that the food and laundry responsibilities were a good swap for the hard labor of spreading 8 yards of mulch. A neighbor walked by and commented that it looks like “Fishbein Landscaping” is back in business.

On a serious note, while I do not have any inside information, it appears that we will continue with remote learning for some time. When the school closures were first announced, most people did not expect this situation to last for an extended period. We may hear some news from the Governor later this week. Moving forward, I will only send a weekly update; however, any important announcements or information will be shared immediately.
