Indoor Dining in New Jersey and NYC Will Expand to 50 Percent Capacity Beginning March 19

Ridgewood NJ, NJ Governor Phil Murphy joins NY Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to announced that New Jersey and New York City will expand indoor dining capacity to 50 percent beginning March 19. Currently, New Jersey and New York City restaurants are operating at 35 percent capacity and the rest of New York State is operating at 50 percent capacity. This follows Governor Cuomo’s announcement that restaurants outside of New York City will expand to 75 percent capacity beginning March 19.

Ridgewoood Schools Reopening Plans Comes Under Criticism

Ridgewood NJ, At Mondays Ridgewood Board of Education meeting ,  according to the New Jersey COVID-19 Activity Reports, our region is still at the high (orange) level. Bergen County saw an uptick in cases last week. Within the district, we had 14 positive cases last week, and another 16 cases the week before. Over the prior week, we saw a 1.3% increase of students returning to school from remote learning with the largest gains at Orchard, Travell, Willard, Benjamin Franklin Middle School, and George Washington Middle School.

CDC Now Says Vaccinated People can Safely Gather Indoors without Masks

Ridgewood NJ, new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest it is safe for fully vaccinated people to gather indoors with each other without masks. “If you and a friend, or you and a family member are both vaccinated, you can have dinner together” without wearing masks or without distancing, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky told reporters on Monday.

Ridgewood NJ, a petition is making the rounds on social media to offer in-person instruction option for all Ridgewood public schools :

We, the families and students of Ridgewood Public Schools, are requesting the Board of Education and Superintendent, Dr. Gorman, take immediate steps to implement full-day daily in-person learning in all schools by April 12, 2021 and enable the families and students of our district to have meaningful input into the district’s Covid 19 mitigation plans and procedures in our schools.

New Brunswick NJ, according to Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security industry competitors Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Merck & Co. announced that they will work together to manufacture the J&J-Janssen SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. Currently, there are only approximately 4 million doses available for distribution. J&J was supposed to produce 12 million doses by the end of February, but it fell behind schedule.
