Dumont Boy Collapses and Dies While Playing Basketball

Dumont NJ,  14-year-old Aaron Vasquez unexpectedly collapsed and died while playing basketball this past Saturday, November 20, 2021. Vasquez had finished practicing with his basketball traveling team, when he decided to stay longer at the Grant Elementary School to play with his younger brother, according to witnesses. CPR was attempted on site then members of the Dumont Volunteer Ambulance Corps rushed him to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

NJ Transit Police Officers Revive Unconscious Woman Suffering Overdose at Newark Penn Station

Newark NJ, a near fatal incident resulted with a lifesaving rescue by New Jersey Transit Police. The officers were on a night shift patrol at Newark Penn Station. Following an anonymous tip, the officers located an unresponsive woman on a nearby sidewalk. A citizen was unsuccessfully attempting to perform CPR.

Wyckoff Police Officers Perform CPR, Revive 3-year Old Boy

Wyckoff NJ, on July 24, 2020 at approximately 12:30 PM, Wyckoff officers were dispatched to the Wyckoff YMCA on a report of a 3-year-old boy who was not breathing. Arriving officers observed that the boy was being treated by YMCA staff and was unresponsive and cyanotic. Wyckoff officers Robert Schlossberg and Michael Scalise performed CPR on the child while attempting to clear his airway of any obstructions. The boy began to breathe on his own and was transported to the hospital by the Wyckoff Ambulance Corps and Paramedics from Valley Hospital.

Visiting Upstate Doctor Revives Young Boy who had been Drowning in Montvale Hotel Pool

Montvale NJ, an upstate New York doctor who was in the “right place at the right time” when he revived a 3-year-old boy who was drowning at a hotel pool in Montvale, police said.

Off Duty Valley Hospital Nurse Saves Women’s Life at Concert

Ridgewood NJ, Melissa, a nurse on Valley Hospital’s same day surgery team, was recently honored for saving a woman’s life! Melissa was attending a summer concert in Fair Lawn with her son (pictured) and husband when the woman had a cardiac arrest. She performed CPR until emergency personnel arrived.

Child falls into Hawthorne Swimming pool

Hawthorne NJ, At approximately 2:45 PM on Monday, 08/31, Hawthorne PD received a 911 telephone call reporting that a 1-year old had fallen into a swimming pool located in the rear of 225 Washington Avenue.
The caller further reported that the infant was not breathing. The infant’s mother began CPR and first arriving Hawthorne PD officers deployed a defibrillator. The child was transported by a Hawthorne EMS ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson with assistance from a paramedic unit based at the Medical Center. The ambulance was escorted to the hospital by a marked Hawthorne PD unit.
An investigation into the nature of the incident is now underway. The victim’s current condition is unknow
