Amazon Fresh Opens In the Fairway Market Space in Paramus

Paramus NJ, retail giant Amazon, made its highly anticipated debut on the Garden State’s supermarket scene. The company’s first Amazon Fresh grocery store in New Jersey opened at 7 a.m. on Thursday, July 21, in Paramus. The new 40,000-square-foot store is located at 30 E. Ridgewood Avenue in the space formerly held by Fairway Market in the Fashion Center . Store hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

Fairway Market to close Paramus Store May 15, 2020

Paramus NJ, Fairway Market announces it will extend the closing date of its Paramus, NJ location to May 15, 2020. The store was purchased by Amazon in early March and Fairway has continued to operate the location in order to serve the community and preserve jobs.

Amazon to Takeover Fairway in Paramus Location

Paramus NJ, as the Ridgewood blog previously reported a court-supervised asset auction, Fairway Market awarded bids for two store leases in New Jersey to Amazon and six locations in New York City to ShopRite operator Village Super Market Inc. and Key Food Cooperative member Seven Seas Georgetowne LLC.

NY Post is reporting that Fairway Market on the verge of filing for bankruptcy

Paramus NJ, the NY Post is reporting that Fairway Market, the famous New York grocer that has been a staple on the Upper West Side for nearly a century, is on the verge of filing for bankruptcy once again again, The Post has learned that Fairway is now preparing to seek bankruptcy protection this month after failing to find a buyer for its 14 stores.

Fairway has been quietly closing stores with the most recent shuttering in Nanuet, New York, a 65,000-square-foot store that closed in September. Sources say another two stores in New Jersey one in Paramus and one in Woodland Park are likely next on the chopping block.
