Passenger Car Strikes Deer in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, The danger posed by deer living in areas with high volumes of motor vehicle traffic was tragically illustrated in Glen Rock on Sunday afternoon, 10/30 when a Glen Rock Police patrol officer was forced to put down a mortally injured deer who had been struck by passenger vehicle in the 900 block of Maple Avenue. The vehicle’s driver sustained a minor hand injury in the collision, and was treated on the scene by an EMT from the Glen Rock Volunteer Ambulance Corps. A hydraulic lift tow truck removed the damaged 4-door sedan from the roadway.

Two special needs students reported non-life threatening injuries after Glen Rock Collision

Glen Rock NJ, Two (2) adults and two (2) special needs students reported non-life threatening injuries following the Tuesday morning, 10.25, collision of a mini school bus and a Honda Pilot at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Park Avenue, Glen Rock. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Glen Rock Police officers and Glen Rock EMS EMTs responded to aid the crash victims.

Glen Rock Resident Reports Columbus Day Peeping Tom

Glen Rock NJ, according to Glen Rock Police on Columbus Day October 10th at 8:09 PM a Glen Rock resident of Boulevard reported a suspicious incident that occurred in the past.  The resident stated that about a week prior, she and her daughter observed a male outside their home and felt he was peering into the window from the front yard.  The resident then heard from a neighbor that they also observed a suspicious male in the area and contacted police.  The detective bureau was notified.

Dispute on a NJ Transit Bus Ends When Glen Rock Police Escort Passenger off the Bus

Glen Rock NJ, on September 26th at 12:01 AM Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a reported dispute on a NJ Transit Bus at the Harding Plaza Bus Station.  Upon arrival officers found that a disruptive commuter was refusing to deboard at the stop.  The commuter was escorted off the bus peacefully and agreed to wait for the next bus at the stop.

Car Hits Convenience Store, Driver Transported to Near by Hospital after Glen Rock Crash

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police reported two (2) vehicle late Saturday afternoon, 10/08, collision near the intersection of Harristown Road and Maple Avenue, in Glen Rock, propelled a 4-door Honda Accord sideways into the front of a nearby building occupied by a convenience store. The Accord’s driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by a Glen Rock BLS EMS ambulance to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported in the incident. A tow truck removed the wrecked Honda from the scene. Glen Rock Police responded to aid the victim and to investigate the crash, and a Glen Rock Fire Chief responded to evaluate damage to the building.

UPDATE: Male Bicyclist Struck and Critically Injured by a Passenger Vehicle at the Intersection of Prospect Street and Grove Avenue in Glen Rock

Glen Rock  NJ, a male juvenile bicyclist was struck and critically injured by a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Prospect Street and Grove Avenue, Glen Rock early Saturday afternoon, 09/24. The victim was transported by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. EMS support during transport was enhanced by an accompanying paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Bergen County Sheriff’s officers and Ridgewood Police officers assisted with traffic control at/near the crash site. Police and Sheriff’s officers escorted the ambulance to Saint Joseph’s. The accident investigation is being conducted by Glen Rock Police. The driver of the passenger vehicle involved remained on the scene and was cooperating with police officers.

Brazen Female Mail Thief Steals Glen Rock Residents Mail in Broad Daylight

Glen Rock NJ, on Saturday September 17th at 11:18 AM a Glen Rock resident of Harristown Road reported a theft of mail from his mailbox. The resident stated that camera footage captured a vehicle enter his driveway.  A female occupant walked around the outside of his home and then entered his front porch. The female tried to open the front door of the home which was locked at the time and then proceeded to remove the mail from the victim’s mailbox. The actor then took the mail and returned to her vehicle and left the scene. The Glen Rock detective bureau is investigating.

Drivers Loses Control and Hits Tree in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, No injuries were reported following the early Sunday afternoon, 09/18, crash of a Hyundai SUV into a tree near 125 Cornwall Road, Glen Rock. A flatbed tow truck removed the heavily damaged vehicle from the scene. Glen Rock Police was investigating what caused the driver to lose control and veer off of the roadway.

Driver Hospitalized After Collision at the Intersection in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ, One (1) person was injured in a two (2) vehicle, early Saturday, 09/17, collision at the intersection of Glen Avenue and Maple Avenue, Glen Rock. The victim, who sustained a non-life threatening crash related injury, was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Glen Rock Police and Glen Rock EMS responded to the incident.

Delivery Truck Starts Brush Fire after Striking Power Lines and Fleeing in Glen Rock

Glen Rock NJ , on Friday September 9th at 2:33 PM ,Glen Rock Police Patrols, along with Glen Rock firefighters, were dispatched to a report of a brush fire caused by downed utility wires on the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that the fire was out, however, damages were caused to a residence when a delivery truck struck the power lines and pulled them from the structure of the home. The unidentified truck had left the area prior to the response of police and fire personnel. The scene was rendered safe and turned over to PSE&G.

While the primary role of a school crossing guard is to guide children safely across the street, each guard plays another key function — a role model helping children develop the skills necessary to cross streets safely at all times. The position of crossing guard is one of the most dangerous of municipal jobs due to uncooperative motorists and accidents.

Glen Rock Police Thanks Intern For all of her Hard Work this Summer

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police departments’s 2022 Intern, Danielle Pragdat, is heading back to school after completing her summer internship with us. She gained hands on experience working in the Records Bureau with our administrative assistant, handling multiple projects throughout her internship. She was also able to spend some time with police officers on a ride along and learned how to operate a taser. The department thanked Danielle  for all of her hard work this summer  and wished her a great school year! , the door is always open and best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Saddle River County Park Walker Struck by Falling Tree Limb

Glen Rock NJ, an adult male visitor of the Saddle River County Park, Glen Rock Area was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital late Thursday afternoon, 08/25, after sustaining non-life threatening injuries when a tree limb fell on him while he was walking along a paved path. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock EMS, and Bergen County Sheriff’s Office personnel rushed to the park’s Prospect Street, Glen Rock entrance to aid the victim.

High Speed Chase Ends in Crash in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, a vehicle pursuit by multiple Passaic County Sheriff’s Department patrol units terminated in a crash on the entrance ramp to Route 208 northbound from Maple Avenue northbound in Fair Lawn at approximately 11:00 PM on Sunday, 08/21, One (1) occupant of the pursued vehicle was taken into custody for an unknown reason. The subject matter vehicle, a 4-door VW or Audi, was impounded by Sheriff’s Department officers and removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Glen Rock Police and Fair Lawn Police officers assisted with traffic control. A Glen Rock EMS crew evaluated multiple occupants of crashed vehicle, but there were no injuries that required transportation to a hospital. A traffic control device was damaged in the crash.

Glen Rock Fire Department Rescues the Cable Guy

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Fire Department tower ladder truck was dispatched to Hanover Place, Glen Rock late Tuesday afternoon, 08/09, to rescue an adult male cable TV contractor who became stuck in a bucket truck that malfunctioned while its hydraulic arm was in the “up” position. No injuries were reported by the rescued individual. Glen Rock Police assisted with traffic control.
