Glen Rock NJ , on Monday the 10th at 1:31 PM Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a disturbance onboard an NJ Transit bus at the Harding Plaza bus station. Upon arrival officers found a 29-year-old Hawthorne woman in a highly intoxicated state, covered with blood, with apparent self-inflicted knife wounds on her arms. The woman, who was intoxicated to the point that she could not care for herself, was transported by ambulance to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center for detox and medical care.

Ridgewood NJ, a traffic light at the intersection of Paramus Road and Grove Street, Paramus was wiped out during a multi-vehicle collision at the very busy intersection early Wednesday afternoon, 01/04. No injuries were reported by the two (2) SUV drivers involved in the crash, nor by the driver, nor any passengers, on a NJ Transit bus that also appeared to have been involved in the incident. One (1) SUV was driven from the scene on its own power, the other was towed. Damage to the bus was apparently minimal. Paramus Police was assisted at the scene by a road patrol officer from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

Glen Rock NJ, on September 26th at 12:01 AM Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a reported dispute on a NJ Transit Bus at the Harding Plaza Bus Station. Upon arrival officers found that a disruptive commuter was refusing to deboard at the stop. The commuter was escorted off the bus peacefully and agreed to wait for the next bus at the stop.

Paramus NJ, One (1) person was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital following a Tuesday afternoon, 05/24, crash between a NJ Transit Bus and an SUV in the 500 block of Paramus Road, Paramus. The SUV was towed from the scene by a flatbed. No word from police at the scene as to whether the victim was an occupant of the automobile or the bus. Damage to the bus also may have prevented it from moving on its own power. Paramus Police and Paramus EMS responded to the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, A Subaru Forester collided with a NJ Transit bus at the intersection of West Glen Avenue and North Monroe Street, Ridgewood, early Friday morning, 10/12. It was NJ Transit route 163. Their were no passengers on the bus at the time. Both drivers sustained non life threatening injuries. One (1) driver was transported to The Valley Hospital for treatment, the other refused medical aid. The Subaru sustained heavy front end damage and was removed from the scene by a tow truck. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood EMS responded to the incident. Ridgewood FD personnel attended to a significant crash related fluid spill.

Paramus NJ, An unoccupied NJ Transit bus caught fire while parked at Bergen Community College’s Paramus campus on Wednesday afternoon, 06/20. Firefighters from Paramus FD Engine Company #1 and Engine Company #3 extinguished the conflagration. The bus, owned by Saddle River Tours, Inc. of Lodi, was completely destroyed in the blaze.

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police and Ridgewood Police units responded in force to a reported disturbance taking place inside of a NJ Transit bus (Route 175) on Monday afternoon, 02/19. A 911 telephone caller reported that the bus driver was being threatened by an adult male passenger. The moving bus was stopped by Ridgewood Police in front of 348 South Maple Avenue, Glen Rock. Because the bus driver was unwilling to sign a complaint against the passenger, no arrests were made and the bus was sent on its way.

Glen Rock NJ, An adult female pedestrian sustained a serious but non-life threatening leg injury when she was struck by a NJ Transit bus #164 at the intersection of Rock Road and South Maple Avenue in Glen Rock on Monday evening, 10/09. The victim was transported to The Valley Hospital by a Glen Rock EMS ambulance; she was conscious and alert when police and EMS personnel arrived at the accident site. Glen Rock Police is investigating the incident. Ridgewood Police units provided assistance with traffic control at the scene.

Ridgewood NJ, The adult female driver of a black colored Chevrolet Traverse escaped injury when a NJ Transit bus slammed into her vehicle’s open driver’s side door in front of 144 East Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood on Tuesday afternoon, 07/18. Damage done prevented the door from being closed, so the Chevy had to be towed from the scene. The bus, with two (2) uninjured passengers on board, sustained glass damage, but was able to continue on its route after Ridgewood PD obtained all necessary information to process a crash report.

Ridgewood NJ , A NJ Transit bus struck a male pedestrian crossing Oak Street at the intersection of Franklin Avenue in Ridgewoodon Monday evening, 10/06 at approximately 7:15 PM. The victim was pinned under the driver’s side of the bus and remained there until freed by Ridgewood firefighters. The bus was operating on Route #752. The victim was conscious and alert as he was being placed on an ambulance stretcher. He was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center; injuries were reported to his leg and ankle. Oak Street between East Ridgewood and Franklin Avenues is closed while the accident investigation is being conducted. Franklin Avenue in the vicinity of Oak Street may be subject to closure as well. Ridgewood PD, EMS, FD, and Emergency Services personnel responded. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigation Unit was requested, as were members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit. NJ Transit PD was also requested.
