Racist Graffiti Discovered at Glen Rock High School

Glen Rock NJ, on October 21st, at 8:42 a.m.  the Director of Security for the Glen Rock Public Schools reported finding racist graffiti on the wall of a bathroom at the Glen Rock High School. School officials were alerted to the graffiti after receiving an e-mail from a parent. The Security Director was immediately notified, searched for and located the graffiti in question. The bathroom is for male students and is located on the first-floor science wing, which is used by both middle and high school students. It is unknown when this occurred, and no evidence was recovered. Maintenance personnel were assigned to remove the graffiti.

Glen Rock DPW Worker Discover Ridgewood Man Overdosed on Heroin

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police  report that at 10:48 a.m. on October 23rd, a Glen Rock DPW worker requested police assistance at the rear of Wilde Memorial Park after finding an unconscious male laying face down. Responding officers determined that the subject, a 22-year-old Ridgewood man, had overdosed on Heroin. The officers administered Narcan and assisted with rescue breathing. A second dose of Narcan was administered prior to the arrival of Paramedics and EMT’s from Valley Hospital. The man did not regain consciousness and was transported to the Valley Hospital ER in Ridgewood.

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police issue the following COVID-19 testing update: 6 residents, including 2 Glen Rock High School students tested positive this weekend. In response, the Borough of Glen Rock in cooperation with New Bridge Medical Center is hosting a Mobile COVID-19 testing site on Friday, 10/23 at 9 am in the Borough Hall Train Station lot.

Trenton NJ, Governor Murphy Signs Legislation Requiring Public Health Emergency Credits To Be Awarded to Certain Inmates and Parolees During a Public Health Emergency.

Governor Phil Murphy signed legislation (S2519) which requires public health emergency credits to be awarded to certain inmates and parolees during a public health emergency. The legislation includes certain exclusions and prohibits inmates or parolees to contact their victims upon their release.

Glen Rock Police Are Looking to Identify the vehicle in Hit And Run along Harristown Road

Glen Rock NJ, on October 2, at 5:51 PM a white pick-up truck legally parked along Harristown Road near Benson Road was struck by a passing white SUV.  A witness provided a license plate number, however, the plate number provided did not match the vehicle’s description.    A check of the area by responding officers proved negative.  Anyone else who witnessed this hit and run accident and who is able to identify the vehicle which fled is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.

Tree Swing Limb Snaps, Sends 11 year old Girl to Valley Hospital

Glen Rock NJ, on October 2nd  at 4:56 PM , Glen Rock Police Patrols, along with EMS personnel, were dispatched to a residence on the 300 block of Harristown Road on a report of a child struck by a fallen tree.  Upon arrival, officers found that an 11-year-old girl was on a swing, attached to a tree limb when the limb snapped and fell on top of her.  Officers and EMTs administered first aid on scene and the girl was subsequently transported to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with non-life-threatening injuries.

Glen Rock Police Urges Residents to show Respect for their Neighbors and Fellow Citizens on Election Signs

Glen Rock NJ, The Glen Rock Police Department continues to receive periodic reports of stolen election signs from residents.  While these thefts are an occurrence every election season, entering onto someone’s yard and taking their personal property remains unlawful.  Regardless of which candidates you support, citizens are urged to show respect for their neighbors and fellow citizens.

Patient Becomes Irate when a Doctor Declined to Prescribe the Tranquilizers and Amphetamines

Glen Rock NJ, at 4:06 p.m. on September 24th, Glen Rock Police Patrols were dispatched to a medical office on Harristown Road on a dispute in progress. Investigation found that a 33-year-old Woodland Park man became irate when a doctor declined to prescribe the tranquilizers and amphetamines which he was seeking. The man reportedly threatened to assault the doctor and demanded his money back if the doctor would not write the prescriptions he was demanding. Officers escorted the man from the premises and at the request of the doctor directed him not to return.

Glen Rock Police Looking for Information on hit and run reported in the parking lot of Prospect Street strip mall

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Police on September 24th at 1:12 p.m. a hit and run motor vehicle accident was reported to have occurred in the parking lot of the strip mall along Prospect Street near the farmer’s market. A Paramus woman reported that she was driving her maroon Honda CRV when it was struck by a black Honda, also believed to be a CRV, operated by a female. The second vehicle was last seen entering Fair Lawn on Prospect Street. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident, who is able to identify the vehicle, is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.

Ridgewood Women Reports Alleged Shoving Match at Glen Rock Arboretum Meeting after 8 months

Glen Rock NJ, at 7:55 p.m. on September 24th a Ridgewood woman reported that she was allegedly shoved by a Glen Rock woman on January 2nd, 2020 while attending a meeting associated with the Glen Rock Arboretum. She decided to file a police report concerning her allegations after eight months but did not wish to file charges through the Glen Rock Municipal Court at this time. It is not known if there are any witnesses.

Glen Rock Paving NJ Transit Main Line Commuter Parking Lot

Glen Rock NJ, Glen Rock Paving: Attached is a notice of milling and paving in the Borough of Glen Rock. Any resident in the area of Byrd school may park their vehicle in the Main Line commuter parking lot. Any other affected streets may park on a surrounding street. While you will be able to get your vehicles out of your street during milling, once paving starts on your street, it will be several hours before you will be permitted to drive on the new asphalt.

Glen Rock Police Warn On Fake Law Enforcement Telephone Solicitations

Glen Rock NJ,  according to Glen Rock Police, several residents have reported receiving telephone solicitations on behalf of an organization claiming to be raising money for local law enforcement due to current stressful conditions and the perceived defunding movement. One resident reported she received a call from 609-564-5823, but other numbers may be used. We know of no legitimate organizations soliciting for this purpose.

Man Defecates in Glen Rock Store Aisle and Leaves Building

Glen Rock NJ , we don’t know how we previously missed this one, according to the Glen Rock Police on August 6th at 3:26 p.m. the Manager of Bottle King reported that a male customer had asked to use the restroom in the store. The customer was advised that was not possible due to COVID-19 restrictions which were in place. The man then proceeded to defecate on the floor of a store aisle and left the building. Detectives are attempting to identify the subject and the store manager was advised of the procedure to sign a complaint under the Glen Rock Borough Ordinance, which prohibits individuals from defecating or urinating in public view.

Bicyclist Involved in Hit and Run in Glen Rock , Police Looking to Identify Vehicle

Glen Rock NJ, the Glen Rock Police reported  that on Thursday the 2oth of August at 7:03 PM a Glen Rock woman riding her bicycle along Harristown Road near Hamilton Avenue was struck by a vehicle making a sharp left turn onto Hamilton Avenue. The woman was not injured; however, the vehicle left the scene without stopping. According to witnesses the hit-and-run vehicle is described as a light blue or gray small SUV driven by a white female who appeared to be young with a female passenger. No license plate number could be provided. Any other witness who may be able to identify the vehicle involved is asked to contact the Glen Rock Police Department at (201) 652-3800.
