Hackensack NJ, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hackensack Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred on Union Street in Hackensack on Saturday, July 15, 2023. At approximately 8:51 a.m., the Hackensack Police Department responded to a 911 call from CareOne Wellington. Responding officers found 72-year-old Patricia Zaccario and 75-year-old Michael Zaccario (both of Wood-Ridge) deceased with apparent gunshot wounds.

Arriving units investigated and found no fire in the kitchen. Further investigation revealed fire on the roof deck extending to an exterior office door frame.
