Paramus NJ, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco kicked off the Memorial Day weekend by visiting Paramus’ Memorial Day Ceremony at Memorial Elementary School. Tedesco said , “As we begin this long weekend, take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the veterans and service members who defend the freedoms that we too often take for granted. Thank you for your courage and bravery.”
The Ho-Ho-Kus NJ, the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 29, 2023, at 10:30 AM. The Parade will begin at Ardmore Road and Sheridan Avenue and conclude at the War Memorial on East Franklin Turnpike for a Remembrance Ceremony featuring the laying of wreaths and a dedication to the unveiling of our 2023 Hometown Hero banners.
Wyckoff NJ, Saturday morning the Wyckoff Fire department was dispatched for a reported structure fire on Helena Avenue. Upon crews arrival, a small electrical fire and smoke condition was located inside the home. This appeared to be due to a tree branch that took the primary power service line down. Crews extinguished and overhauled the area. Orange and Rockland Electric made the proper repairs.
Ridgewood NJ, Benjamin Franklin Middle School students were reminded of the real reason for Memorial Day when members of American Legion post 53 were invited to take part in the school’s annual Memorial Day Remembrance event. The event included vocals by BFMS’s own Sawyer Klein in a stunning rendition of the national anthem.
