Ridgewood NJ, the Firework show ended early due to a malfunction that caused shells to explode on the ground in the launch area. No injuries were reported .

The unplanned detonation did not happen near the crowd.  Ridgewood firefighters were in position when the misfire occurred and quickly responded to and extinguished fire.

This is why safety areas are established and emergency plans in place. There have been accidents before and Ridgewood public safety personnel have been there to keep residents safe.

Ridgewood NJ, An 80-year old male experienced a medical episode which caused him to loose control of his vehicle and crash into an unused building at the Ridgewood train station on Wednesday afternoon, 06/05. The victim refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital and was driven home by a private party. However, the historic building that was struck and the victim’s 4-door sedan both sustained extensive damage. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire, Ridgewood EMS, Ridgewood Emergency Services and representatives from the Village of Ridgewood’s Building and Engineering Departments all responded to the incident. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked sedan from the scene. North Broad Street in Ridgewood remained closed in both directions while emergency responders worked.

the Fly Hears More High Density Housing Targeting Ridgewood ……..

highdensity housing

the fly has heard from numerous resident that a person or entity is attempting to buy or did buy property on South Broad St with the alleged purpose of constructing senior housing. This resident wonders when this over density going will stop. Poster may comment that its for senior so whats the problem ?   That maybe true but construction like this still costs the taxpayers. (More police , fire , ems, sanitation personal) not to mention our failing water supply and the conditions of the roads and traffic. So one would ask the question. Why now?  You could  try to blame the 3 Amigos but they been gone for years and ordinances can be changed. What will this council do? When will the destruction of that neighborhood  stop? Rev Johnson must be rolling in his grave.  Remember that just because they build senior housing in Ridgewood doesn’t mean it is exclusively for Ridgewood Resident rather it would be open to county residents or maybe state residents. So don’t hold your breath hoping to sell your house and move in.
