Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood native Ali Stroker made history Sunday night as the first actor in a wheelchair to capture a Tony Award. She earned the trophy for her portrayal of Ado Annie in Daniel Fish’s dark revisionist revival of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “Oklahoma!
The 31-year-old Stroker, who was the first person in a wheelchair to appear on Broadway back in 2015 in “Spring Awakening,” was paralyzed from the chest down due to a car crash when she was 2.

Ridgewood NJ, For the past nineteen years, the Parks and Recreation Department has been hosting a children’s “Storytime” program at Graydon Pool on Thursday afternoons, in the kiddie section at 3:30pm.
This weekly program runs throughout July and August. Generally, we host about 25-30, early elementary school children each week. They gather each Thursday under the sunshade and are truly excited to listen to a short story and participate in either a simple craft, a song or a game which correlates to the story read.

Ridgewood NJ, according to the Ridgewod Police a resident caught a man trying to break into her Linwood Avenue home Thursday, police said. According to police sources a “suspicious person” knocked on the woman’s front door. She then saw the man go to the back of the house and try to force his way into the house through a locked door. The man saw the woman and quickly left. The Bergen County Sheriff’s K9 unit was dispatched and personnel from the Crime Scene unit went to the house and assisted police with an investigation.
The Ridgewood Police Detective Bureau is currently investigating. The home is on Linwood Avenue near Henrietta Court. Anyone with information or who may have seen a suspicious person in the area is asked to call Detective Steven Shortway at 201-251-4536 or email him at [email protected].
Not on this subject, but if you’re planning to”follow the money” Lan company is an even bigger no bid–which is technically not correct because some company offered a contract thousands and thousands of dollars cheaper than Lan–because they bid only on true NEEDS– and were turned down. Lan was actually paid by the “Powers that Be” to look over the schools and see what we can possibly spend money on (actually stated as “determination of what is needed in our schools.”) So Lan wrote up every single thing they could possibly dream up and declared it all needed (for all we know they even added in old fashion pencil sharpeners and “Bouquet of chalk” so they could cover every thing imaginable to man). The first Honest Company was rejected because they fulfilled the demands of the bid while Lan was totally off the wall. “Money Makes the World Go Round” must have been written for Ridgewood. But try to trace it!

I have about a decade before my eldest needs to take some college admissions test, so hopefully this social justice nonsense would lose steam by then.
Fact: kids bear no responsibility to how much time and $ their parents invested in them. Therefore penalising their hard-earned test taking labour is a wrong approach.
Fact: ppl will cheat like mad. Everyone has a Cousin Billy in some shittown whose address they can cite on SAT application to bump up their scores.

“Do you think that the Village Council will ever show proof of only clean dirt, rocks, junk being dumped at that site? The new apartments are over old car body shops, repair shops, and a gasoline station. This includes the ENTIRE area being used for it’s filthy, contaminated dirt. They have already shown that they don’t care enough about children to put a crushed coconut field in at the high school instead of the cheaper–and much more dangerous/contaminated as many studies show–crushed tire.”
