Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood EMS and Ridgewood Police Patrol Officers Patrick Elwood & Kevin McKeon responded to aid the adult female victim of a single vehicle crash in the 700 block of Grove Street, Ridgewood on Sunday afternoon, 11/04. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked white colored, 4-door sedan. A young shade tree was also destroyed in the incident. The accident may have been caused when the driver experienced a medical episode.

Ridgewood NJ, Village crews started collecting leaves placed along the curbline in the street beginning October 22,2018 and will continue through December 21st weather permitting. Designated yard waste area’s A-D will be used for leaf removal purposes .
The town has been accused of screwing up the leaf pick up across the board over the last 5 years, but there has been progress made the last couple of years in expediting the process . The Village can not control the weather and many remember , “Christmas trees frozen into huge uncollected leaf piles. Like mountains on the moon..wet leaves frozen into the streets”
Ridgewood NJ, An armored vehicle loaded with currency clipped two (2) utility poles before jumping a curb and crashing into a tree on Saturday afternoon, 11/03, in Ridgewood. The incident occurred in the 300 block of South Maple Avenue, Ridgewood, near Prospect Street. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Fire Department, and Ridgewood EMS rushed to aid the vehicle’s driver, who was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital with a non life threatening leg injury. Several armed security guards and uniformed police officers stood by as currency was transferred from the heavily damaged vehicle to another armored unit owned by the same company. A heavy duty wrecker removed the demolished vehicle from the scene. Traffic was detoured away from the crash site until the scene was cleared. Police at the scene did not comment as to whether any summonses were/would be issued in connection with the crash.

Ridgewood NJ, Piano prodigy Drew Petersen will be featured with the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra on Friday November 16th at 8:00 p.m., at the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood. An Oradell native, Drew most recently won the American Pianists Award following a rigorous 13-month competition. He is also a prizewinner in the Leeds International Piano Competition and has performed solo and concerto recitals in both Europe and the United States.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police report that on October 25th, a North Van Dien Avenue resident responded to Ridgewood Police headquarters to report the theft of delivered packages. The victim reported three delivered packages were stolen between August 2018 and October 2018 after being delivered to her residence by USPS. The packages were valued at approximately $170. Its that time of the year again people need to be careful.
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire Department personnel used the “Jaws of Life” to extricate the driver of a dark colored SUV from her vehicle following a Friday evening, 11/02 crash at the intersection of South Monroe Street and West Ridgewood Avenue, Ridgewood. Ridgewood EMS transported two (2) victims of the crash to The Valley Hospital. All injuries were reported to be non life threatening in nature. Ridgewood PD also responded. At least one (1) vehicle was removed from the scene by a tow truck.
