No surprise the Village of Ridgewood with it’s very high costs came in 7th worst in the entire country at number 1328 (out of 1334) . In overall business environment the Village placed 955 and in Business costs 1310 .

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Mayor Paul Vagianos recently balked at a $300k plan to complete a pedestrian safety/sidewalk installation project (approximately 1200 feet of sidewalk) on the south side of West Glen Avenue between North Monroe Street and S Hill Road. Instead, the Mayor has proposed spending $100k to extend the existing sidewalk by only 400 feet, which would result in its termination mid-block on West Glen Avenue, between North Monroe and S Hill Road.

There will be music and entertainment in Memorial Park at Van Neste Square on Saturday night and Sunday. Each month will be culturally themed, and there will be special activities for children. Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood firefighters received numerous telephoned reports of a house fire in the 400 block of George Street, Ridgewood shortly after 0945 hours on Monday morning, 04/17. Arriving firefighters observed heavy black smoke emanating from the single family house and immediately began fire suppression operations. No injuries were reported in the blaze, which rendered the house uninhabitable. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters assisted at the scene. Ridgewood Police, Ridgewood Emergency Services, and Ridgewood OEM personnel also responded to the incident.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood High School was placed into “lockdown” status late Monday morning, 04/17, following receipt of a 911 telephone call reporting the presence of an armed individual wishing to do harm located in the school’s student cafeteria. Ridgewood Police officers rushed to the scene and thoroughly searched the building with the assistance of several nearby police departments; everything was found be in order. Ridgewood Fire department and EMS personnel were on standby outside of the building as a precaution. An investigation of the 911 telephone report’s origin is now underway.

Ridgewood NJ, the RHS Wind Ensemble visited The US Military Academy at West Point for a tour of their campus, the viewing of a rehearsal by the West Point Band in preparation for an upcoming concert, and a clinic with Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Coven, the band’s Commander and Conductor. The band also played in their 4,500-seat auditorium!
