Saturday Morning A Toyota Prius found its Way on to a Well maintained Front Lawn of a Grove Street Home in Ridgewood

Ridgewood NJ, a local resident driving under the provisions of a learner’s permit lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a railroad tie retaining wall and shrubbery of a single family home located in the 300 block of Grove Street, Ridgewood on Saturday morning, 06/18. The blue, 4-door Toyota Prius came to rest on the front lawn and sidewalk of the well maintained property. Neither the driver nor her adult male passenger were injured in the mishap. A flatbed tow truck extricated the Prius from its predicament and removed it from the scene. Ridgewood Police responded and processed the crash report.

Emily Schmitt Receives the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award on behalf of the West Point Society

Ridgewood NJ, Kirsten Dickson presented the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award on behalf of the West Point Society of New Jersey, an organization of graduates and friends of West Point who live in New Jersey. This award is presented annually at approximately 100 high schools throughout New Jersey, recognizing students who excel in academics, athletics, community service, good citizenship, and leadership. This year’s Ridgewood High School award recipient is Emily Schmitt.

Amazon to Launch Drone Deliveries

Ridgewood NJ, Amazon’s Prime Air drone delivery service will start later this year, pending FAA permission. Lockeford, California will be among the first locations in the US to access the service. The drones will be able to carry five pounds of payload at speeds of up to 50 miles an hour. They are able to detect static and moving objects and automatically change course to safely avoid them.

Logan, leader of an organization for Northern Civil War veterans, called for a nationwide day of remembrance . “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed.

Ridgewood NJ, the Fred d’Elia Ridgewood Run was created by Manfred (Fred) d’Elia and his wife, world-class runner Toshiko d’Elia, in 1976. Tired of driving his wife into Manhattan for competition with the New York Road Runners, Fred decided to create his own race to attract serious runners to their hometown. The inaugural Ridgewood Run took off with runners sporting hand-made bib numbers with Fred acting as race director, course certifier and timer. “With no money to put on a race, we all had our tasks,” recalls Toshiko d’Elia. “I hand-delivered all the race applications around town to save on stamps and our daughter Erica, was handed a black dry-marker to make race numbers.”

Bergen County Law Enforcement Steps Up Security at Houses of Worship

Ridgewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and Chief Jason Love announced a county-wide plan to enhance security at houses of worship in response to increasing acts of domestic terrorism across the country. Additionally, in the wake of yesterday’s horrific elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Bergen County law enforcement agencies are dedicating officers to conduct additional patrols and be present at all schools.

Three Days On The Schuylkill River Yields Ten Medals For Ridgewood Crew

Ridgewood NJ, the Schuylkill Navy’s 95th Stotesbury Cup Regatta took place on Friday and Saturday. One hundred eighty-one teams gathered at the Schuylkill River in temperatures over 90 degrees for two days of thrilling sportsmanship. Ridgewood Crew sent 13 boats to compete against outstanding athletes from all parts of North America, finishing in 7th place overall, winning one Gold and one Silver medals and 5 boats racing the Finals.

Ridgewood NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of JAMES A. RAZIN (DOB: 5/21/1986; single; unemployed) of Ridgewood, NJ on charges of production, distribution and possession of child pornography and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

She was reported missing after being last seen wearing a Black shirt and maroon pants leaving the Stable (259 north maple Avenue) at approximately 1100 am yesterday . Party has dementia.
