Ridgewood NJ, it is being reported that multiple Ridgewood Firefighters have tested positive for COVID19 and it is being alleged that currently covid testing is being dissuaded by Village management with alleged threats to withhold health insurance payments for testing and sick days .

Ridgewood NJ, on Thursday 9/3/2020: “C” Shift practicing Standpipe Operations at the new Village Parking Garage. Fire hydrants work by tapping into a pressurized system. In addition, a fixture called a standpipe facilitates firefighting within buildings and works like an overhead sprinkler system.

Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Fire extinguished a passenger vehicle fire in the parking lot of an auto body shop located at 264 South Broad Street, Ridgewood on Friday afternoon, 06/19. No injuries were reported in the conflagration. The vehicle, a 4-door Buick sedan, was totaled. No tow truck was necessary due to the charred remains’ location.

Ridgewood NJ, on Wednesday Ridgewood Fire Department, “B” Shift was called in for a fire in a detached garage in the early morning. Later that day Firefighters from “C” Shift rushed to fire inside of a garbage truck. No injuries were reported at either fire.

Ridgewood NJ, on Wednesday Ridgewood Fire Department “B” Shift using Tower 36 had to remove slate shingles that were falling onto the sidewalk on Broad Street . This is the second instance of concerns over falling debris in recent weeks . No Injuries were reported.

Ridgewood NJ, according to Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 on Monday 12/23/2019: “B” Shift extinguishing a car fire. There were no injuries and no damage to the adjacent building.
The car fire, a red Porsche was in-front of the Ridgewood Press at 609 Franklin Turnpike, Ridgewood.

Ridgewood NJ, On Wednesday October 23rd Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 presented a donation to @mallorys_army which was our charity for our Golf Outing this year. Pictured are Lt Jordan Zales President of the Golf Committee FF Chris Mead and FMBA President Jason Jacoby along with Dianne Grossman who is Mallory’s mom and the head of the organization. Being able to give back to our community and help blue out bullying is very special to our organization.

Ridgewood NJ, Saturday 8/31/2019: Ridgewood Fire Department “C” Shift extinguished an engine compartment fire without any injuries or extension into the passenger compartment! MMost of the car was saved but we are not sure it will make it to the Ridgewood car show .
The car appears to be a Karmann-Ghia .The first Karmann–Ghia was introduced in Europe in 1955 and arrived in America as a coupe in 1956. The convertible soon followed in 1958. It cost $300 to $400 more than the coupe, but was sportier to convertible-loving Americans, for whom it initially was built. The slick little car was sold through 1974. The car was made by Volkswagen .

Ridgewood NJ, on Monday, June 3 Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 were able to have our 28th annual charity golf outing at River Vale Country Club , Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47 couldn’t do it without our gracious participants and sponsors! This year we were able to raise money for Mallory‘s Army which is a great charity turned out of a very sad situation in New Jersey. The firefighters thank once again to all that were involved and can’t wait for the 29th next year!

Ridgewood NJ, on Wednesday 10/10/2018, as part of Fire Prevention Week “A” Shift went around to all the Ridgewood schools with the HSA Presidents on board the Fire Trucks to conduct a Fire Drill. These are timed each year to see how fast everyone evacuates the building and a helmet trophy is awarded to the school with the most improved time which this year went to GW Middle School! This year as always was a lot of fun for all involved!
