Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Emergency Services was well prepared for the May 29th Annual Ridgewood Run. Along with Ridgewood Emergency Services and our mutual aid resources, there were over 100 responders on hand watching over the participants and spectators. Although a dreary weather day, perfect for the runners, fortunately it was a quiet day for the Emergency Responders. Thank you for everyone’s support and coming out on Memorial Day.  See you all on July 4th with the Parade and Fireworks extravaganza.

Reader says So Voigt turned out to be a crackpot

mad hatter

So Voigt turned out to be a crackpot. We still got two very competent Council members and vanquished the previous Council majority. Big win for common sense. The Record and Ridgewood News are becoming more and more irrelevant every day. As are Mr. Halaby and the other special interests hanging on to the failed legacy of the prior regime. Please let’s just put a bullet in the head of Valley’s Master Plan amendment and let’s overturn the ridiculous high density housing debacle. Voigt is everything that we all hate about NJ politics. Shame on him for the campaign that he ran to get where he is.

Reader says Yes, I swim every summer at Graydon for 40 years

graydon-opening-day-2010-small

Yes, I swim every summer for 40 years. Water is clean. It is checked twice a day. I love the sand bottomed Graydon, like a pond.

You former city dwellers have to understand that plants and leaves and sand in water do not make it dirty, unsafe for swimming.

Please do your research a cement bottom chlorinated pool can and often does have deadly bacteria. It too has to be checked and maintained regularly.

Even the ocean too has dirty, unsafe days. Ever been down there when the water has fecal bacteria and you are not allowed to swim.

So come to Graydon this summer ; dive in, I have always loved it.

Reader says Funny how Voigt refers to “the mayor’s supporters.” All these people supported Voigt and the Mayor did, too

village Council Elections

Funny how Voigt refers to “the mayor’s supporters.” All these people supported Voigt and the Mayor did, too. She had his sign in her front yard and campaigned for him. Looks like a boatload of people got fooled by him. What a crummy person he turned out to be. So nasty, paranoid, and not doing a single thing he campaigned to do. He was dead set against the garage, now he pushes for it. he was dead set against the nastiness of Arnonsohn and company, now he personifies it. he was dead set against underhanded dealings, now he is in bed with the press. he was an advocate for the people, now he is vilifying the citizens. Wow

Reader says obvious silly ploy of Aronsohn and morally corrupt Patsy’s

paul Aronsohn

file photo by Boyd Loving

This is such an obvious silly ploy of aronsohn and his political motives and morally corrupt Patsys. I don’t know why more people don’t see through this,
He made big promises and he didn’t deliver. He literally NEEDS to corrupt this current council and break it all apart to sneak his people back in in order to deliver on the bs promises he made about disabled housing and parking garages. Or his spiral ions go down the drain. What a snake. What a lair. And these food are falling for it and so are all of us! Voigt especially

Mayor Susan Knudsen thanks all those Who Helped Memorial Day Service and Remembers the Fallen

memorial day service

photo courtesy of  Mayor Susan Knudsen

Thank you to American Legion Post 53 for today’s beautiful Memorial Day Service. Special thanks to Commander Bob Paoli and all of our Veterans, the Ridgewood High School Band and Jeff Haas, Sally Ann Tumas Skoric, Sophia Sheehy, Father Ron and Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Ridgewood Police, Fire and EMT and, most especially, ALL those honored and remembered on Memorial Day. Below is the full text of my speech from today – speaking from the heart I may have missed a few lines!
———————
-Each day leaving my house, or when returning home, I see the flag of the United States of America, the American flag, OUR flag proudly flying from a pole attached to my front porch. There have been times when I thought I might like to change out the flag to a seasonal design to greet spring or summer, welcome fall, wish a merry Christmas or maybe acknowledge a birthday. I never have. You see, OUR flag is the most beautiful flag I’ve ever seen. Mine is faded and needs to be replaced. Even faded it’s the most beautiful flag in the world.

-Arriving at Village Hall I see the flag flying out front greeting visitors; the Prisoner of War – Missing in Action sharing the halyard, resting just below. At Memorial Park is the American flag with the Honor and Remember flag, once again sharing the halyard just below, following her every move.
-Sometimes our flag whips and flies wildly with a wicked gust. Sometimes she flies firm and sturdy with a steady wind. Sometimes gently waving on a soft and tender breeze. Sometimes, when the air is still, she rests peacefully…..tranquil, waiting for the next wind to raise her up in magnificent glory. Perhaps, on this rainy day, she simply weeps for the blood of fallen heroes spent protecting our freedoms.

-There are those times, too many times, when the flag is found bringing home the brave in a flag draped casket.
Proudly, yet tenderly and reverently, covering one of our soldiers on a last journey home to loved ones and a grateful nation. Removed and folded thirteen times – each fold with meaning and spiritual significance. Beginning with the first as a symbol of life – ending with the last, a reminder to all that In God We Trust. Another fallen hero is laid to rest.

-Who were these heroes? Our fallen heroes honored here today on Memorial Day? They were men and women, tall and short, big and small, young and old, of all colors, race, ethnicity, religion, faith, culture, orientation, from all walks of life, from every part of our nation and from all around the world, speaking many languages, with differing levels of education from every conceivable background. They were from cities and towns, mountains and farmland. Look around – our fallen heroes reflect all of us.

-Forever missed and loved by family and friends, loved and honored by a nation. Remembered here today for their sacrifice to our country and for protecting that glorious flag, a beacon of hope around the world and all it represents: freedom, liberty and human rights. Proudly waving in the wind saluting our bravest. Saluting our fallen heroes.

-Mayor Susan Knudsen

Reader asks What Business Does Councilmen Voigt Have with Alfred Dublin or the Record?

Jeff Voigt Ridgewood Council

Let’s not blame four great elected officials for the folly and bull of Jeff Voigt. The article doesn’t make sense and Vogt does seem paranoid. If the Mayor filed an opra for doublin emails then why would she suddenly have to work in concert with anyone to file an opra. Doesn’t make sense to me. Is the mayor limited to only one Opra in a year? Why would Vogt feel intimidated because of emails on a public server? He is supposed to be doing village business. Does this mean he’s doing village business with Alfred Dublin or the record? Ifso, exactly what village business is he doing with them? It sounds like Vogt is trying to suppress public records or maybe he’s just a fool. In either case he’s not serving Ridgewood residents. If voigt has a lgbt brother why didn’t he say so in a public meeting? Instead he writes in a letter to editor?
Seriously?

Doblin doubles down on attacks and character assassinations of Ridgewood Mayor Susan Kundsen

Mayor Susan Knudsen

May 29,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, Doblin doubles down on attacks and character assassinations of Ridgewood Mayor Susan Kundsen . Alfred P. Doblin is the editorial page editor of The Bergen Record. In his latest column he once again praises Councilmen Voigt  and goes on the offensive against the Mayor.  Doblin continues to cling to the silly  fallacy  his editorial led to the flying of the rainbow ie gay pride flag at Ridgewood’s Van Nest square .

In his last piece Doblin took sides against Village voters and taxpayer with the full support of the former and failed politician Mayor Paul Aronsohn . In his latest peice “Doblin: In Ridgewood, speech is free, but not always easy” https://www.northjersey.com/story/opinion/columnists/alfred-doblin/2017/05/28/doblin-ridgewood-speech-free-but-not-always-pleasant/349657001/ Doblin continues to endorse the grotesque and disrespectful behavior of both the Aronsohn regime and Councilmen Voigt . Perhaps he has a women’s issue or perhaps he is in league with politicians and developers looking to urbanize Bergen County . What ever the case once again it bears repeating ; Residents and taxpayers have every right to OPRA politicians emails period and it both offensive and dishonest to suggest otherwise .

We are still waiting to see the photo ops from Mr Doblin visiting Mosques , posting the rainbow flag at their door steps or his editorials looking to limit radical Islam from gaining entrance to the country ,given their known proclivity for KILLING GAYS.  In either case it no surprise to anyone that the Bergen Record would align it self against taxpayers and work in collusion  with people looking to undermine the Democratic process. Ridgewood residents may consider boycotting the Bergen Record until the Village get a full apology form Alfred P. Doblin.

Bergen Record down the “rabbit hole” with Councilmen Jeff Voigt

mad hatter

May 29,2017

the staff of the Ridgewood blog

Ridgewood NJ, once again it looks like the Bergen Record has picked sides and gone down the “rabbit hole” with Councilmen Jeff Voigt and the 3 amigos . In a recent article ,”Email search exposes distrust among Ridgewood council members” ( https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/bergen/ridgewood/2017/05/27/email-search-exposes-distrust-among-ridgewood-council-members/343478001/ ) the Record clearly with the help of former Mayor Paul Aronsohn attempts to miscast the Villages version of the “Mad Hatter” Councilmen Voigt as a victim in the latest OPRA conspiracy .

Aronsohn’s failed political exploits have left him with little room to maneuver, and lots of favors that need repaying ,yet he can still call the Bergen Record his friend . The new owners seems to have fallen for the same nonsense the destroyed the papers credibility in the past.  The ridiculous one sided article tries to paint Jeff and his two supporters in town as the victims of an organized effort to harass him with OPRA requests . As usually the Record takes the side of another failed politician over the wishes of the taxpayers and residents .

Residents and taxpayers have every right to OPRA politicians emails period and it both offensive and totally dishonest to suggest otherwise . The reality is like Aronsohn’s 3 Amiogos administration Voight was caught red handed actively undermining his colleagues . It was poor judgement on his part and poorer judgement for the Bergen Record to consort with a 3 times political loser like Aronsohn .
