Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood blog poll is showing a significant amount of voters do not feel Ridgewood Schools are providing a good education for the money .
Currently 55.02% voters answered NO to the question, “Do you think Ridgewood Schools are Providing a Good Education for the Money ” and 44.98% voted YES.
Cris Kaufman’s only flaw is that he is not experienced at being a BOE member and he is not super polished in a venue like the “debate.” This is not a character flaw. Loncto is experienced because he has 7 years on the Board. I am sure Cris will know more in seven years. And Loncto had to READ answers after SEVEN YEARS of experience. Cris is natural, he is not scripted, he is enthusiastic, smart, involved, and he is a listener. I saw him at one of the coffees and he was aces in this less formal environment. Loncto, by the way, was appointed the first time and ran unopposed the second time so he never had to go through this debate scene EVER. Voting for Kaufman, no doubt about it. Loncto has to GO.
$110 million budget and our schools not even ranked anymore in the top twenty in the state. Only four Ivy Leaguers amongst 2018 graduating class. Ridgewood schools are living off the fumes of reputation. Taxpayers not getting their money’s worth, but teachers certainly are, not upholding the Tradition of Excellence but profiting from it. Cha-ching!
Ridgewood NJ, At the October 8 BOE meeting, during the public comment section, a resident made a remark that many residents considered to be both racist and vicious towards Asians. Other residents of Asian background who were at the meeting and those who saw the video or the text of the comment concurred.
I too was uncomfortable with Mr. Kaufman’s performance but all I had to do was to see who is supporting Loncto and hearing that Jeff Voigt was actually bullying a gentleman at the event to know that I am casting a vote for Kaufman. The Dark Side is busy preparing for Council elections in 2020. Some how this is all connected. Don’t understand them but I know I disagree with just about everything they are for. Please cast a vote for Kaufman. He deserves a chance.
This is Cristopher Kaufman and I’m running for a seat on the board of education. I wanted to reach out and send you statement that I was hoping to get on your blog.

Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Board of Education appears to have violated the Open Public Meetings Act. On Thursday, October 25, 2018 a special public meeting was called with NO notice appearing anywhere , not even a mass email was sent out to parents and guardians . The Agenda appeared on the board web site 48 hours in advance, yet the BOE appeared to discuss non related items that were not listed on the agenda.
Cyberbullying, bullying, sexting, beatings. 10 long years of persistent, awful conduct in our schools, documented and covered all over the news, including CBS, and nothing changes. The schools are a mess, and they just try to cover it all up. No wonder the rankings are dropping, with this administration. Who would want their kids to go here?
I feel there is currently a disconnect between the board, teachers and residents and a lack of transparency from the board. The Board of Education budget is 65% of our property taxes and spending has increased by over 30 million dollars in the last ten years. It is critical to control spending by sharing services with the Village and working with the Village Council in an effort to stabilize or reduce spending. I want to make sure we are working as one community, the Board of Education and the Village Council should be working together and sharing purchasing opportunities, maintenance costs, security and any other costs that can be shared in an effort to reduce spending.
Ridgewood NJ, the President of the Ridgewood School Board Vincent Loncto commented on the Ridgewood blog , yesterday Saturday October 20th ,
“I am Vincent Loncto. I want to let the readers know that I have publicly stated that I am in support of moving the Board oF Education vote to April, and enabling the public to vote of the school district budget. Whoever wrote that I am against that is utterly wrong.”
Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Board of Education Candidates Night will be Monday, October 29, 2018 from 7:30pm-9:00pm at the Education Center, 49 Cottage Pl, 3rd floor, Ridgewood, NJ 07450
The two candidates running for the single open Board of Education seat are Cristopher Kaufman and current Board of Education President B. Vincent Loncto .
The most noticeable major difference in the candidates is the current Board of Education President B. Vincent Loncto is dead set against letting Ridgewood residents vote on the $110,000,000 school budget and the challenger Cristopher Kaufman is very much in favor of letting the public decide thru budget votes .
The obvious answer to your questions is No and No. Town members care, but the people in charge act like we don’t exist –so nobody is there, and they all have soundproof earplugs–so nobody cares! They have set up an impenetrable wall between themselves and the voters. They only pretend to care when it is nearing the elections. They pretend to listen to villager complaints but continue on their merry way with excessive spending on ANY project that ANY ONE thinks they’d like to see in Ridgewood. We can’t just vote them all out because they take their turns at election time. Nobody who seems to have a brain in their heads and some financial awareness wants to run. Who wants to take on all the personal attacks they would be subjected to if they try to contradict any of the rotten ideas presented? I am afraid that no-one with a brain or financial ability will stay/or move to Ridgewood.
SEXTING !!!
Are you sure that was the word you wanted to use when referring to 13 yr old little girls?
Do you know what today is ? It’s the international Day of the Girl !
By using the word sexting you are re victimizing the victims.
Sometimes you need to think before you quickly react and send these emails
I recall when there was a horrible fight between two boys your email was void of the incident that started it …. that being the a forward of a nude photo of one of their girlfriends…. why no mention of “sexting” then ? Maybe had the dialogue been opened then none of this would have occurred ???????
To re victimize a victim is shaming them. They are little girls !
Did you forget about the media 5 yrs ago all over the HS bc of the Ridgewood nudes post ….. I don’t recall you calling that sexting !
This is a sad situation and should be treated as such for the victims and they should all learn from it in a sensitive manner
