River Edge Jumper Rescued by Quick Action by Multiply Police and Fire Agencies

River Edge NJ, on April 12 at approximately 2:05 pm, New Milford Fire Department was dispatched for a water rescue at the 100 block of New Bridge Road. New Milford Fire Chief 301 was first on scene along New Milford and River Edge Police. New Milford’s Marine 38 squad responded with their Boat and rescue team. Mutual aid from River Edge and Oradell Fire Departments responded with there rescue boats as well.

Early Morning Fire Destroys Paramus Home

Paramus NJ , Paramus Fire fighters responded to a 5am fire in a two-story home on Village Circle West . The home was totally destroyed by the three-alarm fire , but no injuries were reported .

Undetonated Pipe Bomb was found next to a Bus Stop located at the Intersection of Howland Avenue and Kinderkamack Road, River Edge

River Edge NJ, an undetonated pipe bomb was found next to a NJ Transit bus stop located at the intersection of Howland Avenue and Kinderkamack Road, River Edge, on Thursday afternoon, 07/29. The device was successfully removed from the scene by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad. Bomb Squad technicians deployed a remote controlled robot and a trailer mounted containment chamber to safely manage the vessel. At least one (1) building in a nearby garden apartment complex was evacuated in connection with the incident. An elderly male evacuee was assessed by Emergency Medical Technicians at the scene after he complained of fatigue and exhaustion. He refused ambulance transportation to a local hospital.

Driver Suffers Serious Injury in River Edge Crash

River Edge NJ, A single vehicle, Wednesday afternoon, 07/29, crash at the intersection of Kinderkamack Road and Rutgers Place, River Edge, resulted in a serious injury to the Honda Civic’s adult female driver. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus. River Edge Police and River Edge Fire Department responded to the incident along with hospital consortium ALS and BLS units. The wrecked Civic was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck.

Strip Mall Suffers Partial Roof Collapse on Kinderkamack Road in River Edge

River Edge NJ, Portions of a protective overhang and facade of a strip mall located on Kinderkamack Road in River Edge collapsed on Tuesday morning, 07/03. River Edge Fire Department called upon the services of numerous area fire departments to assist with the primary search for any trapped occupants/patrons. Bergen County Executive James Tedesco was on the scene personally leading a team of Bergen County OEM representatives. Several blocks of Kinderkamack Road were closed to vehicular traffic while emergency responders worked. No immediate injuries were reported, but the removal of downed building debris had not yet begun at the time of this post.

3 Alarm Fire in Oradell Tuesday Leaves at least one Victim Hospitalized with Serious Burns

Oradell NJ, a multi-story house 3 alarm fire at 240 Kinderkamack Road became engulfed Tuesday evening. There were no fatalities reported, at least one victim was hospitalized with serious burn injuries after being pulled out by an Oradell police officer and an off-duty firefighter in the fast-moving Tuesday night house blaze.

Firefighters from Oradell, Haworth, Westwood, Paramus, Bergenfield, New Milford, River Edge, and Dumont responded.
