SADDLE RIVER, NJ — Saddle River officials are considering the purchase of a 0.6-acre property at 22 E. Allendale Road for affordable housing, with the price set at $860,000. The proposal, introduced at the Aug. 18 Borough Council meeting, is set for a public hearing and vote on Sept. 15.

Two Men Charged in Saddle River Shooting Investigation

Saddle River NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrests of 19-year-old JEREMIAH L. RIVERA of Saddle River, NJ, and 20-year-old SHA’ZEIK DAVIS of Mahwah, NJ on charges stemming from a shooting that occurred in Saddle River, NJ. These arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, under the direction of Chief Matthew Finck, and the Saddle River Police Department, under the direction of Chief Jason Cosgriff.

Saddle River School District Names Jennifer Macones as New Superintendent

Saddle River NJ,  the Saddle River School District has announced Jennifer Macones as its next superintendent of schools, set to take office on July 1, 2025. Macones, currently the principal of Birchwood Elementary School in Dover and a coordinator for the Rockaway Township School District, will lead the 115-student preschool-to-grade-five district into its next chapter.

Saddle River NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, in partnership with local and federal law enforcement agencies, announces the recent implementation of the newly formed Bergen County Crime Suppression Team. This initiative was a special, directed patrol and investigative response task force that was assembled at the start of the recent holiday season. As a collaborative effort of combined resources from the Prosecutor’s Office, municipal police departments, and federal law enforcement, the Crime Suppression Team aimed to enhance public safety throughout the county during a particularly busy time of year.

Saddle River NJ, the Childhood Cancer Society’s annual benefit dinner, hosted by Saddle River Mayor Albert Kurpis and his wife Judy, raised a remarkable $178,596 to support families impacted by pediatric cancer. Held on October 24 at Ridgewood Country Club, the event also celebrated the launch of the Adventure Ted Challenge, a fundraising initiative to boost the charity’s Wish Grant Budget and provide uplifting adventures for children and their families.

Saddle River Police Officer Cleared for Full Duty and Returned to Patrol

UPDATE: Four-Car Chain-Reaction Crash on Route 17 Leads to Arrest of 18-Year-Old for DWI

Saddle River NJ, a four-car, chain-reaction crash occurred Saturday night on Route 17 South near East Allendale Road when a Range Rover lost control and rear-ended two police vehicles and a stopped car. The driver, Joseph Ford, 18, of New York City, was later arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), along with multiple other charges.

These scammers, often armed with personal information obtained illegally from the dark web, use threats of embarrassment to coerce victims into paying via Bitcoin.
