West Long Branch NJ, Most New Jerseyans are aware that a ban on single-use plastic bags will go into effect next month, but the word “ban” may mean different things to different people. There is majority support for a “plastic bag ban,” but many backers would still prefer to have access to plastic bags for a small fee. At the same time, the Monmouth (“Mon-muth”) University Poll finds that many New Jerseyans are likely to be caught off guard if they expect to be able to get a paper bag. Few are aware that a ban on paper at large supermarkets is included in the new rules. Overall, most state residents say it will be easy for them to adjust to bringing their own bags when they shop, but those at the lower end of the income scale are more likely than others to say they will have a very hard time adjusting.

New York State Postpones Ban on “Single Use” Plastic Bags Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

New York NY, You don’t have to break out that reusable bag when you brave the supermarkets – at least not yet.New York State’s ban on plastic bags is now on hold until May 15.

The ban went into effect on March 1, but enforcement had already been pushed back to April 1. Now, fears that reusable bags may help spread coronavirus has prompted Albany to move it again.

Instead of Banning Single Use Plastic Bags ,Lets just Stop Using Them

Ridgewood NJ, banning single use plastic bags is the latest cause celeb , but does it really impact the environment ? Many residents in the Village seem to support the ban often citing the curtailment of trash .

The Ridgewood blog has often criticized the garbage buildup in local parks, but feels very uncomfortable with government imposed bans, like the cigarette ban ,that has been used to justify banning every thing from soda to straws. Blanket bans seldom are effective and often lead to unforeseen consequences . Do you really want your fresh salmon wrapped in newspaper ? Or like the banning of Styrofoam ,leads to more use of the far worse coated paper.
